The Mayor of New York City is coming to Seaside for an inspection, and Arlo and the gang go all out to impress her so their home doesn't get condemned.

- Book Ends: The episode starts and ends with Tony filming a promotional video for SBS.
- Brick Joke: When Ansel first meets up with Arlo, he holds out his arm to shake his hand before Arlo turns it into a Secret Handshake. Later on as he is congratulating him, Arlo does it again, only this time Ansel joins in.
- Failure Montage: Arlo completely messing up his line during Tony's video at the beginning. Doubles as Hilarious Outtakes.
- Gross-Up Close-Up: The fountain's nostrils oozing out backed up sewage like boogers. Elena actually likes it and says it's natural.
- The Inspector Is Coming: The episode focuses on Mayor Elena coming to inspect SBS and Arlo and the gang have to impress her otherwise it will be shut down for good.
- Mass "Oh, Crap!": Arlo's friends have a simultaneous state of shock when he breaks the bad news that if Mayor Elena does not approve the project, then SBS will be permanently closed.Arlo's friends: SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY?!?!?
- Mock Millionaire: Arlo and the others pretend to be these to impress Elena.
- Overly Long Gag: Arlo getting pulled by the phone cord while calling Ansel. It actually takes until the end of the call does he finally crash.
- Poor Communication Kills: During a phone call with Arlo, Ansel tries to say they must do the best they can so Mayor Elena approves the project, but the loud noises of his espresso machine keep drowning out his speech. This causes Arlo to misinterpret his father's advice and go all out.
- Second Episode Introduction: Ansel's first appearance in the series.
- Secret Handshake: When Ansel meets up with Arlo, he holds out his hand as if expecting a normal handshake, but Arlo playfully turns it into one of these. In the end, he does it again, only father and son do the secret handshake together.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: As it turns out, Elena wasn't thinking about condemning SBS, and she appreciates the town for the way it is. Ansel tends to catastrophize during serious events.
- So Proud of You: Ansel says this word-per-word to Arlo after SBS is approved and the Uncondemning is announced.
- Split-Screen Phone Call: A rather prolonged one between Arlo and Ansel over the mayor's imminent inspection of Seaside.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: When attempting to impress the mayor, Arlo dresses up like a girly ballerina for no reason.
