iShock America is the 7th episode in the 5th season of iCarly.
When Jimmy Fallon mentions iCarly on his late night show, Carly discovers Jimmy is a fan of the webcast and soon enough, the whole gang is invited to appear on the show with him. But when Gibby has a wardrobe malfunction during their appearance, it could mean huge trouble for the webshow's future.
Tropes:
- Diegetic Soundtrack Usage: Whenever the iCarlys are introduced on Jimmy's show, Questlove and The Roots can be heard singing the theme song, "Leave It All To Me".
- Foreshadowing: When Gibby is buying pants from the dodgy street vendor, he asks if they also sell belts or underwear and is told they do not, foreshadowing the main event of the episode.
- Naked People Are Funny: Averted hard. Gibby's Wardrobe Malfunction is considered completely inappropriate and offensive by everyone on scene.
- Guest Star: Jimmy Fallon appears as himself, hosting his show.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Jimmy becomes one to the iCarlys in the climax, as he feels bad for them having to pay $500,000, so he asks for donations through Twitter and with that, they receive just about enough for the fine and the show is saved.
- Shockingly Expensive Bill: The NCC's fine for nudity is a whopping $500,000; since the iCarlys took the blame for it on the show, they have to pay the bill otherwise iCarly will be shut down.
- Take Our Word for It: Gibby's Wardrobe Malfunction is never seen onscreen, probably due to the target audience.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The street vendor Gibby visits that sells pants but not belts and underwear, is what leads to his Wardrobe Malfunction on live TV.
