iLook Alike is an episode from Season 2 of iCarly.
When Spencer forbids Carly from attending an MMA fight where she, Sam and Freddie are asked to interview pro wrestler Jackson Colt, they get lookalikes of themselves to cover for them while they sneak out.
Tropes
- Bullying a Dragon: It was stupid of Spencer to start putting up a fight with Jackson Colt, who is visibly much bigger and stronger than him.
- Failed a Spot Check: The iCarly trio forget to remove the spare keys in front of their studio's door before Spencer would find out they sneaked in to the MMA fight.
- Foil: Sam's double appears to behave like this, except for one complication. Sam's double dislikes watching MMA fights, has a crush on Freddie, is rather sweet and kind-hearted, but suddenly she demands that the iCarly trio triple how much they pay her to pose as Sam in front of Freddie. Sam points out now her double is starting to act like her.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Jackson Colt is violent and abuses his power upon others who make him angry for even the smallest of reasons, but acts friendly to children. Though to be fair to him on one occasion, when Spencer intervenes, Jackson was under the impression the gang were being harassed and pummels him in their defense.
- Make It Look Like an Accident: Sam proposes at one point that they can get Freddie to the MMA fight by paying her Uncle Carmine to stage an "accident" with Mrs. Benson.Carly: We are not paying your Uncle Carmine to hurt Freddie’s mom!
Sam: Well, he's not going to do it for free! - Mass "Oh, Crap!": The iCarlys all have this when they see Spencer show up at the interview, having realized the trio's deception.
- Never Trust a Title: The doubles do not look like the iCarly trio. They just wore the same type of clothing and perhaps have the same hair color.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Spencer is notably more mature and strict than he usually is. Likely a result of Character Development stemming from the first season episode "iWanna Stay With Spencer." Lampshaded by Carly.Carly: Since when did you start being uncool?
- Paper-Thin Disguise: The doubles look absolutely nothing like the iCarly trio. They simply wear the exact same type of clothing the iCarly trio usually wear, yet Carly remains convinced they'll pass off as them. And when Spencer is finally able to get into the studio and get a good look at the doppelgängers' faces, he immediately realizes they are not the iCarly trio and he has been tricked.
- Recorded Audio Alibi: Carly and her friends want to watch an MMA match, but Spencer refuses to let them go. They decide to use their lookalikes that they met earlier in the episode and come up with a recording of 20 different responses they could use. Unfortunately, when Spencer comes up to talk to them, they fumble the responses and he catches on as soon as he sees their faces.
- Spoiled Brat: Spencer calls Carly this for acting like a whiny girl who throws a tantrum whenever she doesn't get what she wants.
- Tantrum Throwing: A skit on iCarly had "The First Tantrum", which involves a cave girl (played by Carly) throwing a tantrum at her parents (played by Sam and Freddie) for not getting a dinosaur by waving her club around the place and screaming.
- This Cannot Be!: Carly's reaction when Spencer forbids her from going to the fight.
- Twin Switch: The iCarlys pull one with their lookalikes, having them take their place while they sneak out to the fight.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Spencer comes to the MMA convention and chews out Carly for tricking him and disobeying his orders.
- You Are Grounded!: Spencer's punishment for Carly for having him get attacked viciously by Jackson Colt and sneaking out into the MMA fight. He grounds her for two weeks.
