Birmingham Ho!
After meeting up with an old school flame; Joe Ryan, Emma and the crew go to Birmingham to con Dosh4You owner Georgina Althorp, with which he owes money to due to some fine print he missed when making a loan, and Emma takes the opportunity to reconnect with Joe.
Tropes:
- The Con: The crew are going to sell Georgina a castle they don't own because she desires being a classy lady with a title, rather than a down-on-her-luck business lady selling loans.
- Hated by All: Georgina is a pushy, self-righteous, opportunistic bitch who treats the working class as beneath her, and has no sympathy for those who cannot pay up on her loans with absurd interest rates. She only wants to line her pockets, and the first scene she appears in, she denies the family loan extensions despite having good reasons to not pay their loan off (family tragedies); she doesn't give a toss, and forces the eviction of the family.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: The contract the disguised Mickey and Ash sign with Georgina is selling her a castle (which isn't actually theirs), and they do essentially the same thing she does with tiny subtexts hiding the fact the contract was only for £1, not the £500,000 she'd verbally agreed to.
- Read the Fine Print: How Dosh4You gets away with their loans having such steep interest rates.
- Take That!: The episode is essentially an Author Tract on how loan companies can be a very bad idea, and how they prey on people who either cannot get loans, or those that hand out loans with needlessly-high interest rates.
