- Tough Love: Robin encourages Ted that Marshall needs this. After 56 days of dealing with his funk, Ted finally snaps and calls him pathetic, stunning everyone in the room. He realizes afterwards that he went too far, and Robin agrees."Because you're pathetic! I'm sorry, but right now you are not Marshall. You are the miserable, whining, shampoo-sniffing ghost of Marshall - and frankly, a guy like you doesn't have a shot in hell with a girl like Lily!"
