Summary

With Kyoko now out of the infirmary, she immediately heads back to work as a Detective, despite Makoto's objections. But has she really come out of her ordeal unchanged? Or will she take the first step towards embracing her life as a high school student?

• Backhanded Compliment: While Class 78 were praising Makoto for his courage confronting Jutaro, Byakuya and Toko give these to him.
  Toko: You’re not…Ma…Master…but…you were still…cool, I gu…guess…
  Byakuya: Hmph. Not bad for a commoner, I suppose. However, if she had chosen me to be her partner, I would have deciphered the culprit and subdued him myself.
• Defrosting Ice Queen: While Kyoko's not friends with Class 78 (sans Makoto), she's willing to join them in their video game tournament.
• Instant Expert: Despite having never played a video game before, Kyoko quickly picked up on the gameplay and won Class 78's Smash Bros. Melee tournament.
• Internal Reveal: Makoto tells all of Class 78 about him and Kyoko's investigation on Jutaro, though he does leave out the discovery of her scars.
• Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: Due to her training with her grandfather, Kyoko's never played a video game before and has to be taught how to play Super Smash Bros. Melee.
• Workaholic: Despite having just gotten out of the infirmary, Kyoko does what her grandfather says and works on a backlog of cases.
