Dr. House continues to jerk the applicants around while treating a rock star (Jeremy Renner). Dr. Cuddy tells House he needs to make a hiring decision soon.
The rock star's case doesn't seem all that interesting. His ailments could simply be the result of years of drug use.
Cuddy tells House to hire Dr. Hadley.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Acoustic License: Most of the doctors are covering their ears as the loud, noisy music plays, but we can clearly hear everything Dr. House says.
- Out-Gambitted: Cuddy tells House to fire Thirteen, assuming he'll hire her just to spite her. He calls her bluff and fires her, so Cuddy has to insist on hiring her, thereby allowing House to hire three fellows instead of just two.
- Show Within a Show: Prescription: Passion is Dr. House's favorite soap opera. Dr. Cuddy interrupts him while watching an episode at the hospital.
