A stray Irish Setter named Ruby befriends Chief when he becomes part of a dog walk, but Elsa, who is also on the walk, discovers that something's not right with her. A lonely Chico ends up playing host to a bunch of frat-boy fleas.

Tropes:

  • Cassandra Truth: Elsa tries to warn Honey about Ruby/Cherry's true nature. Honey is at first doubtful due to believing that Elsa has emotional issues, but she soon finds out the truth when Ruby/Cherry tries to kill her.
  • Chekhov's Gun: A flea makes its way onto Honey. Soon, when Ruby/Cherry tries to push her into a hole, Honey gets out of the way to scratch her body due to the flea.
  • Darker and Edgier: It's an episode about a serial murder dog. How is that not dark or edgy?
  • Flea Episode: Chico is feeling lonely until he meets a flea who offers to be his friend. Instead, he brings other fleas and have a never-ending party on Chico's body. After being exiled from the therapy group and the fleas getting some ticks added to the party, Chico asks for them to take it easy, but the lead flea instead declares that Chico's body is theirs now, and they eventually start to suck him dry. The Grey One saves him by putting him in a pool at the back of his home, whose water is toxic enough to burn the fur off Chico and kill off the fleas.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Ruby/Cherry became a Serial Home Wrecker because as a twelve-week-old puppy, she was taken from her mother and siblings, and the people who took her in made her sleep in a cage and eat off the floor, making her have to beg for scraps of food. But as Honey points out, this is something a lot of dogs go through.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Ruby/Cherry really has a bad habit of letting jealousy consume her as she wants to mate with dogs who already have mates and is willing to kill both the dog of her affections and their mates whenever they don't go along with her wants.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: After revealing her true colors to Honey, she claims that killing her isn't anything personal but follows that up by saying Honey has something she wants.
  • Sequel Hook: The episode ends by revealing that Ruby/Cherry has survived her fall and is adopted by a family while giving an evil grin to boot, hinting that we have not seen the last of her.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Ruby/Cherry develops a crush on Chief and becomes possessive of him, and plots to get rid of Honey to have him all to herself. According to Raccoon, she also had a dog who wouldn't leave his mate for her by blowing up their house.
  • Surprisingly Normal Backstory: Ruby/Cherry tells Honey that she wants to kill her and take Chief on account of all the 'suffering' she went through, like being taken from her mother and siblings and adopted by humans who made her sleep in a cage and having to beg for food. Honey lampshades that all of that is just a typical dog life.
