Go To

Airdate: February 9, 2009

Strong Bad and The Cheat discover that they somehow sent Homestar to the Arctic, and try their best to remember how the heck it happened. Meanwhile, Homestar is unperturbed and just carries on as if nothing is amiss.

The short can be viewed on the official Homestar Runner YouTube channel here.

Tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch: In the sole Easter Egg where Strong Bad takes The Cheat to the vet (read: Bubs), Bubs asks for a trashcan-sized sample of pee. Strong Bad assumes that he's talking to The Cheat but Bubs points out that he isn't.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Homestar, while stranded in the Arctic, somehow thinks he's still at Marzipan's, tries to entertain himself by pretending to have a leg that's slightly shorter than the other, talks to a dead sea lion as if it's still alive, and thinks Strong Sad is a polar bear with magic ice breath.
  • How Is That Even Possible?: Strong Bad and The Cheat struggle to comprehend how peeing into Homestar' melonade started a chain of events that stranded him in the Arctic.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Homestar tries to entertain himself by pretending one of his legs is shorter than the other.
Homestar: [swinging leg above the ground] It doesn't touch...
  • Missing Steps Plan: The toon is centered on Strong Bad and The Cheat trying to figure out the missing steps of their caper after they successfully pulled it off. They know it started with The Cheat peeing in Homestar's melonade, and ended with Homestar adrift in the arctic, but can't figure out how the former led to the latter.
Strong Bad: I think we might be missing a couple key steps there.
  • Noodle Incident: How did Homestar end up in the Arctic? It started with The Cheat peeing in Homestar's melonade, but Strong Bad and The Cheat can't figure out how that led to Homestar's current predicament.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Strong Bad and The Cheat inexplicably have a direct satellite video feed to Homestar's location in the Arctic. Strong Bad makes sure to point out that they don't know how they got it.
  • Lost at Sea: Homestar is stuck on a small ice floe in the middle of the ocean somewhere in the Arctic Circle. Near the end of the cartoon, Strong Sad also appears floating on a chunk of ice.
  • Nothing Is Funnier: The only thing we know about Strong Bad and The Cheat's caper is that they took Homestar's melonade, and The Cheat peed in said melonade. The result is Homestar drifting in the middle of the Arctic somehow. The rest is left up to the imagination.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: After running into Homestar while adrift at sea, Strong Sad mutters "Boy, did I pick the wrong hemisphere to aimlessly drift through this year."
  • Riddle for the Ages: Strong Bad and The Cheat are confuzzled as to how they got Homestar stranded in the Arctic, and spend the bulk of the toon trying to figure it out. They never do.
  • Surveillance as the Plot Demands: Strong Bad and The Cheat just so happen to have a direct satellite video feed showing them how Homestar's handling the Arctic. They have no idea how they got said feed.
  • Title Drop: When Strong Bad is trying to recall how they got Homestar stranded in the Arctic Ocean.
Strong Bad: Come on, man! This is like our best caper ever, and we don't even remember what we did?!
  • Toilet Humor: The Cheat peed in Homestar's melonade as a joke.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Homestar doesn't realize that he's in the Arctic. He then ends up throwing away several items that would help him escape his predicament, such as a satellite phone and a flare gun.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: All Strong Bad and The Cheat can remember about the "Best Caper Ever" is that it started with The Cheat taking a whiz in Homestar's melonade.
