Airdate: Wednesday, October 29, 2003

Costumes (in order of appearance): Strong Sad as David Byrne, Marzipan as the Log Lady, Strong Mad as Magnum, P.I., Strong Bad as Ozone, the Cheat as Izzy (mascot for the 1996 Olympics), the King of Town as the Hamburglar, Homestar Runner as John McEnroe, Pom Pom as Kamala the Ugandan Giant, Coach Z as Kool Moe Dee, Bubs as Mel Sharples, Stinkoman as Speed Racer, The Poopsmith as M. Bison, Homsar as Slash, and The Goblin as Santa Claus.

Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat go toilet-papering. Strong Sad and Marzipan try to contact the spirit of Credenza, her dead ficus plant. The rest of the crew go trick-or-treating.

Tropes:

  • Body Horror: Played for Laughs; giving Stinkoman the vial labeled "AKIRA" causes him to sprout an enormous, hideous, fleshy tentacle, and he quips "That tickles!"
  • Captain Obvious: Bubs' reaction to the "electrical disturbance" during the seance is to remark "I've dealt with this before. Lights: definitely out."
  • Comically Missing the Point: Homestar misidentifies Coach Z as "Wesley Snakes", and Coach Z replies he's Kool Moe Dee, "from the Treacherous 3". Homestar replies that he wouldn't know, since he's only seen Treacherous 1 and 2.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • The interactive trick-or-treat sequence is a nod to "The House That Gave Sucky Treats". Bubs even remarks, "I remember this house from a couple of years ago."
    • When Strong Sad gets everyone to join in on the seance, Homestar chants "witch's brew" instead of "Credenza".
    • At the end, frustated that no one can recognize his costume, Strong Bad starts to shout that he's Carmen freakin' Miranda.
  • Easter Egg:
    • Clicking on the trick or treat scene without giving Bubs or Coach Z anything will reveal a scene where you can give treats to Stinko Man.
    • Clicking on the Poopsmith in the scene where Homestar discovers the Poopsmith gave him "bum candy" leads to a brief scene with Homsar, dressed as Slash.
      Homsar: AaAaAaI'm open for interpretation!
  • Egging: Strong Bad buys a massive quantity of eggs to throw them at others all night.
  • Extreme Omnivore: The King of Town eats raw eggs, toilet paper, and Marzipan's Halloween decorations.
  • Implausible Deniability: When Marzipan catches the King of Town eating her candy-corn lights:
Marzipan: You've got to be kidding me! Stop doing that right now.
King of Town: Stop what? I don't do noooothing!
  • Major Injury Underreaction: One of the trick-or-treating items you can give Stinkoman is a jar labeled "AKIRA". If you give him this, his right arm will abruptly turn into a bunch of tentacles. He screams when he feels his arm transform, but when he actually sees what happened to his arm, what is his reaction?
    Stinkoman: That tickles.
  • Precision F-Strike: A mild example for Marzipan, a character who almost never swears. When Strong Mad threatens to destroy her house, she exclaims "What the crap!?".
  • Secret Character: Stinkoman is unlocked if you let Coach Z and Bubs leave your house empty-handed.
  • Someone's Touching My Butt: When the lights go out at Strong Sad's seance.
Bubs: Yup. I've dealt with this before. Lights: definitely out.
Homestar: And someone's a-grabbin' my butt...
  • Take a Third Option: Happens if you don't give anything to Bubs and Coach Z at your house. They will leave, and Stinkoman will show up at your doorstep.
  • Toilet Humor: Homestar's trick-or-treating takes him to the Poopsmith, who gives him a shovelful of... whatsit.
Homestar: Hey! Poopsmith, did you give me some bum candy?
    Bubs: He sure did...
  • Toilet Paper Prank: Strong Bad, Strong Mad, and The Cheat plan to spend the whole night TP-ing various locations. We see them do it to The Stick. Then Strong Mad tries it on Marzipan's house... by punching the wall with a toilet paper roll in his fist.
  • Waxing Lyrical: An easter egg at the end has the seemingly obligatory (given Strong Sad's costume) reference to the lyrics to "Once In A Lifetime":
Coach Z: Well, Strong Sad, this is a beautiful house you got here.
Strong Sad: This is not my beautiful house!
Coach Z: Oh, and I haven't been introduced to your beautiful wife yet, neither.
Strong Sad: This is not my beautiful wife!
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!:
    • Marzipan's reaction to the King of Town trying to eat her candy-corn-shaped Halloween lights is to scold him with "You've got to be kidding me! Stop doing that right now."
    • An Easter egg features Puppet Homestar, also dressed as John McEnroe, doing an impression of one of McEnroe's infamous tirades and shouting "Seriously! You can't be serious!"
  • You Say Tomato: Bubs accuses Coach Z of deliberately exaggerating his accent during the "trick or treat" sequence (mangling "Trick or Treat" into "Track or Trort" and "Swedish Fish" into "Swordish Forsh"). Coach Z responds "Cut me some slack. It's a crowd-pleaser!"
