As Rias and the others deal with Issei's death, trouble brews in the Underworld.
Tropes in this volume include:
- Curb-Stomp Battle: While still suffering from Samael's curse, Vali vaporizes Pluto into dust.
- Heroic BSoD: Issei's second untimely demise does quite a number on the Occult Research Club.
- Loophole Abuse: The traitors in the Heavens who gave vital intel to the Khaos Brigade were Angels who avoided falling by using a loophole in Heaven's system. These Angels, however, became Fallen Angels after leaving the Heavens and escaping to the Khaos Brigade.
- Mood Whiplash: This volume starts out depressing after what happened in the previous volume. And then, it's now at Issei's perspective of the story where the first few things that he says is that he can't even make out with Rias anymore with his current spirit form.
