Hannibal has sent Jack Crawford an invite to dinner. Both are convinced Will is on their side. The time has come for Hannibal to show his true nature, but who will survive seeing the devil unmasked?

- Ambiguous Ending: Will, Jack, Alana and Abigail are left dying but not quite dead yet, while Hannibal makes a clean escape...with Bedelia?
- Beneath the Mask: Hannibal finally shows his true, terrifying colors.
- Book Ends: With both the first episode of season one and the final episode of season one: Abigail bleeding out on a kitchen floor, with Abigail's neck slashed in the exact same way it was by her father, while Will fails to staunch her wound; Will himself bleeding from an injury inflicted by someone he trusted.
- Darkest Hour: The three primary protagonists lie bloodied and possibly dying, while the villain flees the country with an accomplice, and he will most assuredly kill again.
- Face–Heel Turn: Bedelia, if her joining Hannibal on his escape flight is anything to go by.

- Meaningful Echo: To the pilot, with Will in the position of Hannibal and Hannibal in that of Garrett Jacob Hobbs.Will: They know.
- Mythology Gag: While testing Will's loyalties, Hannibal asks "When the fox hears the rabbit scream, he comes running... but not to help." That's one of Mason Verger's lines in the third movie.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: If Will hadn't spent some time chatting with Freddie Lounds, then Hannibal wouldn't have caught her scent on him and realized he was planning to sell him out.
- Although there's also the issue that apparently Bedelia was on Hannibal's side the entire time. Maybe.
- Nipple and Dimed: Alana demonstrates very quick hands when her sheet disappears in the drowning anxiety dream.
- The Stinger: Hannibal escapes and catches a plane overseas. Accompanying him is Dr. Du Maurier.
- Turn in Your Badge: Kade Prurnell suspends Jack just as he's preparing to move against Hannibal.
- Wham Episode: Abigail is discovered alive, but is left to die by Hannibal, along with Will, Jack and Alana, who've all been fatally injured. All their fates are left ambiguous. Meanwhile, Hannibal escapes on an international flight accompanied by Bedelia Du Maurier, whom as far we know had spent all season attempting to flee Hannibal's wrath.
- Wham Shot: Bedelia Du Maurier on the plane alongside Hannibal.
