"Snip Snip Hooray!" is the sixth episode of the second (internet) season of Happy Tree Friends.
Cub is going to get a haircut from Pop. After Pop places the haircut tools on the highchair, Cub becomes interested in the scissors and reaches his hand to grab them. Obviously, Pop stops him. Pop then proceeds to take off Cub's hat, revealing very long, bushy hair. He begins cutting the hair with the scissors, only to accidentally cut off one of Cub's ears in the process, making the poor baby cry loudly. Cub is now seen with bandages covering the ear area and a lollipop in his hand to soothe him. After feeling satisfied, Pop begins to wonder where his other tools went. A buzzing noise is heard and Pop becomes horrified to see that his son has managed to peel some of the skin on his head with the electric shaver. Pop takes back the shaver and turns it off. He then gently tries to comb the skin back to its place, all while Cub is still staying content. Pop gets his shaver again, only for it to not turn on. He becomes annoyed by the fact that it somehow got plugged out, so he walks to the electrical outlet to fix it, leaving the electric shaver behind. Cub picks up the shaver, and then begins sucking on it. When Pop plugs the cord back in, the electric shaver spontaneously activates and begins to tear the insides of Cub's mouth, throat, and esophagus. Cub ends up slumped over afterwards. Finally, Pop finds his scissors and uses them to cut the last strands of Cub's long hair. After tidying the baby bear's head with a brush, Pop puts his son's hat back on.
"Snip Snip Hooray!" contains examples of:
- Artistic License – Engineering: There is no visible switch on the electric shaver to activate/deactivate it. Not to mention, it is inconsistent on whether it has the electric cord connected or not.
- Blood from the Mouth: Cub ends up with this after the shaver in his mouth does its work.
- Bumbling Dad: Once again, Pop's ignorance is the main reason for Cub's death. He even doesn't acknowledge his son being dead.
- Compressed Hair: Cub's long hair is not seen until his cap is taken off.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: The electric shaver tears the insides of Cub's mouth, throat, and esophagus.
- Ear Ache: One of Cub's ears accidentally gets cut off when Pop is trying to cut his bushy hair.
- Limited Sound Effects: Cub's voice when he is playing with the shaver is reused from the one in "Rink Hijinks".
- Major Injury Underreaction: Zig-zagged. Getting his ear cut off is enough to make poor Cub cry in agony, but getting part his head's skin peeled provides no reaction. In fact, he keeps laughing happily. Later, he screams as his mouth, throat, and esophagus are being destroyed by the shaver.
- Mouthscreen: There is a close-up shot of Cub's mouth when he screams in pain after Pop accidentally cuts his ear off while cutting his hair.
- Oh, Crap!: Pop's reaction when he notices that Cub has managed to shave part of his head with an electric shaver.
- Pun-Based Title: "Hip hip hooray!"
- They Killed Kenny Again: Cub dies.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Pop survives.
- Updated Re-release: One of the early episodes to be part of the "Classics Remastered" releases, which rerelease early HTF episodes in HD.
