Farmer Lumpy is growing a giant ear of corn for the annual competition at the carnival. However, a crow threatens to eat his prized corn before the day arrives and Lumpy will do whatever it takes to protect his prize.
"Aw, Shucks!" contains the following:
- Companion Cube: Lumpy loves his giant corn so much that he brings it breakfast and covers it with a blanket.
- Clever Crows: A crow that's trying to eat the giant corn was smart enough to lock Lumpy out of his house and watch TV. Of course, he never gets caught by the bumbling moose.
- Downer Ending: Since everybody dies and his corn is popped into just a couple of kernels, Lumpy doesn't win the competition.
- Giant Food: Lumpy's corn is actually taller than he is, which is saying something since he's the tallest Tree Friend of the cast.
- Half the Man He Used to Be: Cuddles gets sliced in half from top to bottom by a railroad crossing.
- Off with His Head!: Flaky, The Mole, Nutty, Mime, and Sniffles all get decapitated by giant, flying popcorn.
- New Job as the Plot Demands:
- Lumpy is a farmer.
- Cuddles and Toothy are mailmen.
- Flaky, Petunia, and Russell are carnies.
- Scary Stinging Swarm: Toothy gets chased by bees and has to jump into a lake to keep them off. Unfortunately, there's barbed wire at the bottom and he gets caught in it, unable to swim out.
- Sole Survivor: Lumpy.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Cuddles, Toothy, Giggles, Disco Bear, Flaky, The Mole, Handy, Mime, Sniffles, Nutty, Lifty, Shifty, Petunia, Russell, Pop and Cub die.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Lumpy survives.
