Am I the Weakest Pretty Cure in History? (私って史上最弱のプリキュアですか??, Watashitte Shijō Saijaku no Purikyua Desu Ka??) is the 2nd episode for the season HeartCatch Pretty Cure! as well as the 294th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.

The episode focuses on introducing Tsubomi Hanasaki to Pretty Cure and the Tree of Hearts, as well as making her realize the power inside of her as she must try tosave Erika Kurumi and the Tree of Hearts.

Tropes:

  • Battle Baton: Cure Blossom uses her own Flower Tact, the Blossom Tact for the first time.
  • Big Damn Heroes: A mysterious man rescues Cure Blossom after she is unable to correctly use her powers.
  • Breaking Old Trends: This is the first time a Cure needs a whole episode to be able to control her Pretty Cure powers.
    • The Flower Tacts are the first weapons that the Cures get when they obtain the ability to transform into Pretty Cure instead of getting them later in the season.
    • This is the first season to feature pre-season Cures.
  • Butt-Monkey: Poor Blossom is completely helpless during her first transformation.
  • Epic Fail: Blossom’s first time transforming is a massive failure and she fails to do much of any against the Destertrian.
  • Heroic Lineage: We learn that Tsubomi’s grandmother Kaoruko was previously known as Cure Flower.
  • Heroic Rematch: Blossom has a much more successful second go at the Destertrian.
  • How Do I Shot Web?: Tsubomi is the first Pretty Cure Protagonist to have absolutely no idea what she is doing the first time around.
  • Human Hammer-Throw: Blossom uses this move on Sasorina after the latter ensnares her.
  • Immediate Sequel: The last episode ended with Tsubomi transforming for the first time. This episode picks up seconds after that.
  • In a Single Bound: When Blossom jumps for the first time, she accidentally jumps stories into the air before crash landing.
  • Instant Expert: At the time, Tsubomi was the biggest Subversion to this trope the franchise had ever seen.
  • Infodump: The audience is filled in on the nature of the Tree of Hearts and the Heart Flowers by Kaoruko.
  • Internal Reveal: Kaoruko learns that her granddaughter has coincidentally followed her footsteps and become a Precure.
  • Lap Pillow: Tsubomi wakes up from being rescued by the mysterious man to a Lap Pillow from her grandmother.
  • The Mentor: Kaoruko becomes one to Tsubomi in this episode.
  • Merchandise-Driven: Blossom’s Flower Tact, the Heart Pot and Seeds are definitely no real-world merchandise that can be purchased.
  • Mysterious Stranger: An unknown youth saves Blossom after she fails to do anything against the Destertrian.
  • Mythology Gag: Just like Cures before her, Tsubomi accidentally jumps super high while getting used to her powers.
  • On the Next: Erika becomes the second Pretty Cure.
Tsubomi and Erika: We’ll catch your hearts!
  • The Poorly Chosen One: Played With. Coffret scoffs that Tsubomi might not have been the best choice after seeing her bomb the first time but she eventually proves herself.
Coffret: Was it really okay making that child a Precure?
  • The Reveal: Tsubomi’s grandmother Kaoruko was once Cure Flower.
  • Signature Move: Blossom uses her Pink Forte Wave for the first time.
  • Super-Speed: Blossom wasn’t used to hers so she ended up running into a tree.
  • Taught by Experience: Blossom’s second time around goes much more smoothly.

  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Sasorina bails once the Destertrian has been purified.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Sasorina briefly expresses attraction towards the mysterious man before snapping out of it and asking who he is.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Blossom reveals she is afraid of heights once she sends herself skyrocketing in the air.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Sasorina has no problems with binding 14-year-old Blossom and attempting to stab her with her poison needle.
