- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Cell has three questions when he lands in HFIL: Where is he, Who are they (the orgres), and why are they German.
- Literal Metaphor: King Yemma tells Cell to "enjoy the barbecue in Hell" before dropping him into HFIL, only for it to turn out that he was talking about an actual barbecue, not a Fire and Brimstone Hell.
- Oh, Crap!: Cell reacts as such the moment he realizes he can't use ki.
- Overly Long Gag: Once the Ginyus start twerking, they don't stop for the rest of the episode.
- Too Kinky to Torture: Cell isn't intimidated by Freeza choking him in the slightest. Instead, he just tells the tyrant that he awakened something.
