- Call-Back: When Monroe explains his friendship with Nick to his parents, a Flashback from the Pilot is shown.
- Cliffhanger: Following on from last episode, a fight breaks out between Monroe's parents and Nick, with Monroe frantically trying to break it up. He does, without anyone getting hurt, although the fact that he's friends with a Grimm is the final straw that makes them walk out.Nick: [To Monroe's dad] I am so sorry. I really didn't want to hit you. [To Monroe] Although they did just try to kill me.
- Friendship Moment: Having heard what happened with Monroe's parents, Juliette drops by the Spice Shop to see if Rosalee's okay.
- Good News, Bad News: The Woden will be easy to find... because they'll be coming after Nick. He's literally the reason they've come to Portland.Nick: Well, don't I feel special.
- Innocently Insensitive: Monroe gets a little too enthusiastic telling Nick about the Wild Hunt.Monroe: See? That's the Grimm there, in the middle. [The Grimm is getting ripped apart] This was one of my favorite books when I was a kid because, you know, the Grimm gets obliterated. [Off Nick's look] But no, that was before... anyway. My guess is, you're the reason they're here.
- Oh, Crap!: Monroe finds Juliette with Rosalee at the Spice Shop and asks what Nick wanted the night before (since it got buried with all the yelling and fighting and such). Juliette tells them about the scalped warriors, leading them to realise they're dealing with the Wild Hunt.
- Rule of Three: There are three Woden coming for Nick.Monroe: I'll take the one on the right.
Nick: I'll take the one on the left.
Monroe: What about that really big guy in the middle? - What You Are in the Dark: Knowing Monroe is going up against Woden, Bart is willing to fight alongside a Grimm rather than let his son die.
