Umamusume: Pretty Derby - A Fanfare to Echoes across the Skies
During the middle of training, Gold Ship heard a voice from a golden lance that tells her to join a special training regiment called "Sky Training" so she can become the strongest Umamusume. As she spins it, she, along with Special Week, Silence Shizuka, Tokai Teio, and Mejiro McQueen are transported to the Sky Realm through a golden light.
Once they found safety, the lance talks to the girls to find three hidden scrolls scattered around the world, with "Anguste" being the location of the first one.
Tropes
- Casual Danger Dialogue: Upon arriving at the Sky Realm, Gold Ship finds a nearby monster and believes that it's just someone inside a costume... until she pokes it.
- Empathic Weapon: Edem can talk, somehow can get motion sickness from riding the Grandcypher, and has a fear of the unknown. She's also the first one that solved the riddle on her own.
- Go-Karting with Bowser: The only way anyone can fight Golsilius is through an eating contest, a dance battle, and a race in that order, losers become "Golshificated".
- Gotta Catch Them All: Much of the event's first half boils down to a quest to find three scrolls: one coming from a demonbream in Auguste, one from a dance battle in Port Breeze, and one from winning an obstacle race in Mysteria.
- Identical Stranger:
- Edem is just a replica of the Eden weapon, with additional ears on it due to gaining its own sentinence.
- Lampshaded with Edem's Umamusume form, Golsilius, in her journal entry as it suggests the identical appearance to Gold Ship might be admiration, yet acknowledges that the actual connection is unknown.
- More than Mind Control: While Walder did get influenced by Edem, he sided with her to help find her own reason.
- Significant Anagram: This is what the answer to the final riddle is for the three scrolls. Besides an additional "t", rearranging the letters of "tone"note , "soar"note , and "runt"note net you "reason to run"note .
