Our Style and Our Substance

During one wedding, a bride from another makes an interruption and suggests stealing the groom, only to be met with an instant rejection. She later gets the other bride into running away with her, noticing that the marriage is more out of obligation than love. Due to this, the bridal industry got shook by what's known as the "Double Wedding-Break".

The Grandcypher makes its return to Port Breeze for the airship's refurbishment and renovation, internally called the "Grand Spruce Up". As a result, most of the crew is either taking breaks or side-gigs for the duration. While going out shopping to find her "style", Kolulu comes across a freedom-loving Draph and gets dragged along when the latter's family shows up. At the same time, Manamel works at an accessory shop under Sierokarte's suggestion and gets herself into a fight with her district manager.

Tropes

  • Connected All Along: Lodi is one of the few hosts/boyfriend candidates Lamouralla has been talking to and is considered her number one spot.
  • Commonality Connection: Subverted. Even though House Lovemore and House Reyer got connected through their daughters running from their Arranged Marriage, the latter exploits the former's wealth to create the Archipelago Annihiloid to sell off for more money.
  • Cute Machines: Mahira and Chloe converts a corridor heater into Miss Heaty the Bedazzled, made cuter with the latter's decorations.
  • Formal Characters Use Keigo: Lamouralla uses keigo due to her background and wanting to uphold her family's Nouveau Riche status. Of course, her rebellious nature means the keigo isn't actually that perfect.
  • Freudian Excuse: Much of the House Reyer's acts stems from their poor condition and desperation to raise funds.
  • Missed Him by That Much:
    • Vegalta alerted Manamel about Nereus's presence at one point. She never finds her and is brought back to the Grandcypher by Metera.
    • It's not until the end of the event that the girls find out that they were all eating out at Flip-Flop at a regular basis for pasta and ramen.
  • Properly Paranoid: Sierokarte has kept tabs on House Reyer, aware about their military history and the development of the Archipelago Annihiloid. Her fears end up correct when the annihiloid automatically activates burst mode.
  • Rummage Sale Reject: Lamouralla admits that her "jirai-kei"-esque outfit is something she picked out on the spot to get guys to notice her. She switches to a different outfit chosen by the crew after giving up that lifestyle.
  • Runaway Bride: Lamouralla and Lilico both ran from their weddings and their families to grasp on the concept of freedom. The latter went back due to having no self-esteem and ran away again on behest of the groom.
  • Seinfeldian Conversation: At the ending, when the girls find out they're eating pasta and ramen regularly at Flip-Flop, Mahira starts one by asking what's the difference between pasta and ramen. Answers oddly get philosophical.
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: Lamouralla and Lilico change into more casual outfits after the two properly grasp about the meaning of freedom.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Lilico's father spent time and resources developing the Archipelago Annihiloid to gain fame and wealth, even though its development is what led to the house's downfall to begin with. It also has a burst mode that can wipe out an island, even though it's meant to be just a deterrent similar to how nukes are used in the real world. The crew dealing damage to it and ultimately destroying it in response to its burst mode assured House Reyer's demise and Lilico being granted freedom much to her father's reluctance.
  • Uncanny Valley Makeup: Kolulu tries to emulate Manamel's style at the beginning of the event by using the latter's makeup. Her general inexperience and the contrasting skin tones causes Kolulu's face to end up looking like a porcelain doll.
  • What You Are in the Dark: While Lodi states he doesn't value his own worth, that doesn't mean the same applies to other people. Case in point, he rescues Lamouralla from her kidnapping despite her already cutting off all ties to him at that point.
