A distress call from Isaac finally makes its way to the crew, which they naturally answer the call.

As preparations are on the way, word also came by stating that the Foe is also making their moves, with war being expected down the line.


Tropes

  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • The real Cassius shows up to stop Isaac and Raybury from being put on trial for their betrayal.
    • Just before Isaac and Cassius are going to fall into the disassembler fluid, Yatima shows up to save them.
  • Dislikes the New Guy: Downplayed. While Eustace doesn't have much hard feelings against Gwynne, he tell her to not get involved with such a high-risk operation due to her newbie status.
  • Double Reverse Quadruple Agent: Isaac is forced into this state as he simultaneously wanted to be rescued by the crew, yet has to keep his cover up to avoid being suspicious.
  • I Choose to Stay: Unlike Isaac and Cassius, Raybury stays behind at the moon due to being fused with Yatima and to halt the drones coming after the escape pod.
  • Indy Ploy: Even though Isaac's family has three laws of engineering, he mentions a fourth one that essentially falls into this if the three laws can't be adhered to.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: After the Otherworlders pop up to cover for Grace, the crew split themselves to deal with the two sets of enemies respectively.
  • Malaproper: Due to his memories being tampered, the real Cassius engages in this while rescuing Isaac and Raybury.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Yodarha is noted to be more bloodthirsty due to Grace's involvement, something both the crew and Rhens took notice.
  • Something Only They Would Say: Gwynne reveals her status as Isaac's brother by calling him "Droopy-Eyes".
  • Spotting the Thread: While Eustace already figured out that the younger brother he was talking to was an impostor due to him still looking like a child, he's ready to fire his gun when the impostor mentions a "new sister to-be". At the time, nobody knew what the gender is and the younger brother wanted his own younger brother.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill:
    • The only way around Diaspora's regeneration abilities is to go for a wide-range instant burn attack, with Flamek being the only thing capable of doing the job.
    • With Dex being too resistant to fight back, the crew decides to use Heisenberg's weapon to disintegrate him.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: After escaping capture, Heisenberg phones in to to Eustace and Ronan warning that the Moon stopped at thirteen Automagods because they found an even stronger weapon.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Grace's deadly wires is weakened by cooking oil, allowing the crew to push back the tides and defeat her.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: After Grace's defeat, she hands over her wires to Rhens. Rhens finds out how much baggage he has to carry using it, so he shortly passes it on to Gwynne instead.
  • You're Not My Father: Due to Ronan calling his mentorship with Eustace complete, he's unable to order him to stop killing Heisenberg. Ultimately, his very final order is to basically appease Eustace's rage by giving him what he wanted.
