Freedom's Dirge

Multiple kingdoms have reported waves of attacks by members of Chamux, suspected to be linked to the dissolved Odajumoki Gang. With the Crew of Enforcers even handicapped, a request is made to the Grandcypher's crew to suppress the situation.

Meanwhile, another ex-Odajumoki member makes a temporary break from his exile to visit the grave of the Allfather. While doing so, he finds an elderly man desperate for food and gives him some of his own. After being told that the Chamux stole their resources, Reizrit suggests bringing him to their village, knowing the potential dangers out there.

Tropes

  • But Now I Must Go: After mulling through Skull's words about freedom, Reizrit decides to follow his own heart and continue on discovering what it means to be a man.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Rhiogur's plan is completely ruined by the fact that he's unaware that the crew is well connected and knows Guzaletha at a personal level, meaning he's unable to force Charlotta as his bride and his summoning act is called out rather quickly when they see it.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man:
    • Reizrit was supposed to be Skull's and Balurga's executioner. A pep talk between the three causes him to realize that he's been duped by Rhiogur and subsequently breaks them free.
    • After a Rousing Speech and the rest of Chamux doubling down on their own instincts, the crew gives the whole gang a beatdown, causing the gang to give up saying that Skull was right all along.
  • Idiot Ball: At one point, Skull finds a few captives and tells them about an escape route he found. The route in question is too small that only a Harvin like him could fit in. Not that it matters since he got caught quickly afterward.
  • Not Worth Killing: Killing part aside, Eustace steps in to finish off Rhiogur, stating that a small fry like him isn't worth the effort for someone like Skull. Even his shot doesn't show any blood splatters, suggesting that he just only knocked him out.
  • Rousing Speech: Despite breaking free, Skull decides to go back to give a motivational speech about what is the concept of freedom to the rest of Chamux. This temporarily works as they give in to Rhiogur's promises, then admits Skull was right after being beaten.
  • Saying Too Much: After Skull points out how poorly Rhiogur impersonates Guzaletha, the latter indirectly admits as such when he calls it his "mastered impression".
  • Straight for the Commander: Chamux quickly disbanded after Rhiogur is defeated, with the remaining followers losing their will to fight and arrested.
