Detective Conan: Gears of Conspiracy

Professor Agasa received funding for his VR game and invited Conan, Ran, Kogoro, and Amuro to playtest it. During the middle of playtesting, the four comes across a large detective and his assistant pointing out a letter in their pockets, leading to them falling into a hole on the floor.

Once they came by, they find themselves stuck with more people, all with the same goal of uncovering the mansion's treasure and Chat Noir's plot.

Tropes

  • *Crack!* "Oh, My Back!": The events ends with Kogoro having back issues and complaining about how painful playing Agasa's VR game was.
  • Crossover: With Detective Conan/Case Closed.
  • Cutting the Knot: For the first puzzle, Barawa brute forces the first lock on his side by breaking it in half, only for Kogoro to point that it's the correct answer to begin with since the symbols in the room points to the lock's weak links. Subsequent locks are also brute forced after that.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: There's one door that can only be opened if two music boxes in adjacent rooms resonate simultaneously. Amuro uses this chance to shuffle around members in order to find everyone else's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Not Me This Time: While Chat Noir is in the mansion, he's not the one behind the mansion's mysteries.
  • Power Outage Plot: Only revealed at the end, it turns out that Agasa spent the whole event trying to deal with a power outage and is unable to monitor the game while Conan, Ran, Kogoro, and Amuro are playtesting.
  • Spotting the Thread: When Katalina and Lyria tries to exit the mansion for the latter's safety, they've come across a note stating they can only leave if they solved the mystery. Unlike all the other notes found, this one is fresh, meaning the culprit is still within the mansion.
