Selina and Bruce go looking for Reggie while Fish works on her escape from the Dollmaker.

Tropes:

  • Arc Number: One of the shooting gallery Bruce goes to has the number 52.
  • Asshole Victim: Reggie did kind of have it coming.
  • Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: It's Bruce who first got the idea to just shove Reggie out the window, but eventually Selina makes the move.
  • The Brute: "The Catcher" serves as this to the Dollmaker, leading a group of mercenaries that keep his prisoners trapped and shoot down anyone who tries to escape.
  • Fingore: Oswald wants co-ownership of a bar, the owner wants her daughter to leave her boyfriend and come back home. Seeing as the boyfriend's a guitar player...
  • Foreshadowing: Dulmacher saying he could just shoot Fish in the stomach, which the Catcher eventually does.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Bruce and Selina finding Reggie leads to an unintended Good Cop/Bad Cop routine. With Bruce as good cop. Everything's relative.
    • The Ogre's use of a camera on his victims may remind some folks of one of the iconic images from The Killing Joke.
  • Pet the Dog: Fish comforts Kelly and takes him with her when she escapes from the dungeon
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Selina killing Reggie after he lost almost all sympathy points after stabbing Alfred and planning to tell Banderslaw about Bruce.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Bruce goes looking for Reggie Payne at gun shops, based on Alfred's statement that he's probably holed up in "a shooting gallery". The more streetwise Selena informs him of the other meaning of the term (a drug-using den).
  • Private Military Contractors: The Dollmaker employs a group of mercenaries to keep his prisoners trapped.
  • Take That!: The Ogre is Christian Grey without the author's protective adoration.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Reggie tells Bruce straight to his face that he's going to tell Banderslaw about his plans and that he will come after him. Then he immediately bends over an open window several stories high to reach for his drugs that Selina threw out the window and which happened to land on a ledge earlier.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Subverted. Although Reggie remarked that Bruce was just a child to the board in a previous episode, he ends up throwing this away after Bruce insults him. He boasts that he'll tell Banderslaw about his plans, knowing full well that he might end up killing Bruce for it.
