In Part One, Harley mopes about not having a proper Halloween celebration like she and "Mistah J" always put on. Ivy pooh-poohs the idea, calling Halloween "amateur night", but then reveals that she got Harley a holiday present — a life-sized doll of the Joker. Harley is pleased, and then embarrassed that she didn't get Ivy anything. Despite Ivy's protest that it's not necessary, she runs out to go "shopping". After breaking into a pawn shop display window and stealing a diamond necklace, she decides to keep it for herself and realizes she still needs a present. As Part One concludes, Harley sees Batgirl and decides to capture her as a present for Ivy.

In Part Two, Harley follows Batgirl through the alleyways, becoming confused when her quarry appears in a completely different direction that she'd last been seen. Finally, she knocks out Batgirl with her boxing glove gun. Ivy is touched, but tells Harley that she made a mistake, which is confirmed when ungagging and unmasking "Batgirl" reveals a man in the costume. The episode ends with a shot of contestants gathered for a Batgirl costume contest, followed by the genuine article signing off "I'm Batgirl".

This episode provides examples of:

• Convenience Store Gift Shopping: Averted, despite Harley's last-minute scramble. She puts enough thought into the items in the pawn shop window to realize that three of them (a vase^note the perfect gift for someone with a Berserk Button about killing plants, a moose head, and a scuba outfit) wouldn't go over very well. The diamond necklace would have been fine, except she wanted to keep it for herself.
• Halloween Episode
• Offscreen Teleportation: At first, it looks like Batgirl pulling off one of the standard Bat-family tricks; in fact, it's multiple people walking around dressed as Batgirl.
• Wholesome Crossdresser: The guy dressed as Batgirl is simply participating in the contest and getting into the Halloween spirit.
