- Sans: "the more we mess with the timelines... the more are the chances of bad things happening."
Thanks to Frisk and Sans's repeated fusing and then resetting, which shouldn't even be possible, the timeline is cracked enough from these "glitches" for Chara to return as their own separate entity. And when they set their sights on stealing the essence of Frisk's determination, Sans and Flowey must team up to stop them.
The video with the original audio can be seen here. The video with the new audio can be seen (alongside the rest of Season 1) here.
Provides examples of:
- An Arm and a Leg: Chara chops their arm off to reach Frisk's extracted Determination.
- The Bad Guy Wins: The episode ends with Chara stealing the essence of Frisk's Determination, with Sans and Flowey forced to retreat with Frisk while Chara establishes a SAVE file.
- Beyond the Impossible: Chara somehow manages to kill all the Amalgamates in the True Lab, who are impossible to harm in-game.
- Came Back Wrong: Frisk's aborted Genocide Run and glitched timeline rose Chara from their grave while corrupting and twisting them with all the generated hate into the Big Bad they are seen here.
- Cerebus Syndrome: Does this to the first season.
- Downer Ending: Chara succeeds in their goals to steal Frisk's determination and take over the timeline, and by the end of the video the audience isn't even sure if Frisk is going to be okay after their ordeal.
- Enemy Mine: Sans and Flowey against Chara.Flowey: "Don't get me wrong... I still hate you. But none of us would survive if they get control over the timeline..."
- Oh, Crap!: Flowey gets one when he sees Chara taking Frisk hostage in the True Lab.
- Shout-Out: Chara is able to teleport, and the graphics when they do it implies they're able to do so primarily because of the timeline glitches that restored them in the first place. While the reference may not be deliberate, they're not the first video game character able to teleport due to glitches.
- Title Drop: Restarts the Once an Episode pattern.
