In order to land a job at a magazine company, Sam decides to write a human interest story about a Robin Hood-esque bank robbery carried out by Flower during her time in a commune, but Flower refuses to be interviewed as she swore to secrecy. Meanwhile, Sam encounters Shiki, the ghost of a Lenape woman on whom Sasappis had a crush, and she and Jay try to establish long-distance communication between them.
Tropes:
- Dramatic Gasp: Isaac gasps when Flower confesses that she stole the money from the commune, and notes that he's the only one who did.Isaac: Oh, no one else is gasping? Well, I guess if you don't gasp at that, you're simply not a gasper.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Before Flower could do anything with the money she stole, a hungry bear mauls her to death.
- No Honor Among Thieves: Members of Flower's commune robbed a bank intending to use the money for a good cause. However, they could not agree what to use the money for and after many fruitless discussions, Flower's boyfriend talked her into taking the money and leaving the commune. After Flower's death he used the money to start a coffee business that did use the money for many good deeds.
- Rogue Juror: Flower's friend Brenda turns out to be the lone juror when the commune spent weeks debating what to do with the money: the feral cats of Costa Rica vs. the narwhals.Ted: Seven, eight, and...all right, so that's nine for helping out the feral cats of Costa Rica. (annoyed) And one for narwhals. Damn it, Brenda. It has to be unanimous.
Brenda: I'm not changing my vote. - The '60s: 1968, where we see Flower taking part in a bank robbery and shortly before she was fatally mauled by a bear.
- The Stoner: This is how Flower met her untimely death while trying to befriend a hungry bear.
- Too Dumb to Live: Hugging a man-eating bear while being stoned is not a pleasant way to go out.
- Wham Line: There's a reason why Flower refused to spill the beans; before she and her boyfriend Ira could give away the donation money, they actually stole it and tried to get out of dodge.
- You Can See Me?: Shiki asks this when she realizes Sam can see and hear both her and Winky.
