The #ThinkBrink Memorial Gala and fundraiser takes place. At the gala, Dean Shetty shows Marie around potential donors. Jordan confronts their parents over their refusal to recognize Jordan's gender identity. Andre enlists Emma for a very special mission at the Woods. She locates Sam, who at first thinks she is a tiny figment of his imagination.
Tropes
- Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Jordan's father tells a story to a guest at the gala from when Jordan was little and pursuing a little girl, misgendering them. To get back at him, Jordan shifts to their female form and reveals that they and the girl grew up to try out dresses together.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: An unfortunate Mook has to suffer having Emma use her powers to enter his head through his right ear and come out his left ear, with and Blood from Every Orifice plus all the fluid covering her implying she tore a hole through his brain.
- Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex: Cate and Andre have sex after she recovers from having passed out while using her powers to rescue him from the guards.
- Have You Told Anyone Else?: Invoked by Polarity when Andre brings up the Woods and Andre realizing his dad knew about it already.
- Interrupted Intimacy: Jordan, in their female form, is ranting about their place in the student rankings while having vigorous sex with Tyler. Just then, Jordan's parents stop by. Jordan kicks Tyler out (and makes him exit by walking through the wall to the adjoining room), and runs around hiding all their embarrassing articles (a bong, liquor, and cosmetics) before switching to their male form and opening the door.
- Match Cut: The first flashback ends with Cate using her powers to put Sam to sleep after he kills a guard and attacks Luke. As Sam collapses, the scene smash cuts to Cate bolting upright in her dorm in the present day, being tended to be Andre.
- Rejected Apology: Justine apologizes to Emma for revealing on YouTube how Emma gains access to her power: "I had no right to co-opt your story. Okay? I apologize." Just then, Emma notices that Justine's friend Harper is filming them, and realizing that Justine only cares about social media clout, walks off in disgust:Justine: I want everyone to know how sorry I am.
- Unfocused During Intimacy: Jordan is more interested in ranting about dropping from #2 to #5 than in their own pleasure or their partner's.
