Chapter 14: Unfolding
Muko finally realizes Nyarai's betrayal when she's standing in front of her as her next opponent.
After Peki and Nyarai betray their respective teams to create Team Firestorm, Adelgund recruits Muko into Team Executor. Believing that it's Muko's duty to punish Nyarai's betrayal, Adelgund volunteers Muko to fight an opponent that she has no hopes of beating. With Nyarai standing in front of her, Muko realizes that she's been betrayed and that furry fighting is a lot more darker than she expected it to be.
- Badass Back: Freydar isn't seen in this chapter because she's shown as a silhouette when Cookie remembers her. However, she was large and was very muscular as seen from the back muscles that are prominent.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Nyarai gleefully calls out Cookie on this by pointing out that Cookie would have figured out her role as The Mole if Cookie bothered doing research on her, such as her job as a hostess.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Muko's fight against Nyarai turns into another No-Holds-Barred Beatdown that's more traumatic than her fight with Kalita. Unlike with Kalita, Muko is dealing with a personal betrayal and Nyarai is prolonging her suffering.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Implied with Nyarai, who brags that she already had experience with furry fight matches prior to the Masato Match, which is how she became a Cyclone Crusher. However, circumstances forced her to erase her past and her record, forcing her to start from scratch.
- Deal with the Devil: Cookie sadly points out to Nyarai that dealing with Shun Gonfano is similar to a deal with the Devil, and that Nyarai is risking her career in the long term.
- Et Tu, Brute?: Muko and Cookie don't take Nyarai's betrayal well in this chapter as they cry a lot in this chapter.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Nyarai is a traitor, but she actually took a job as The Mole for weeks or months, despite hating it, because she respected Freydar that much to get revenge on her for what Cookie did to her.
- Failed a Spot Check: Nyarai points out to Cookie that she would have figured out her connection to Shun Gonfano if she bothered to see if she worked at Club Diamond. If she had, she would have realized she was lying and then found out she worked at Club Nighthawk, the club owned by Shun.
- Honor Before Reason: Adelgund volunteers Muko to fight Nyarai because she believes that it's Muko's right to avenge Nyarai's betrayal on her. It gets her beat up as a result. She resolves to make amends by defeating Nyarai at the end of the chapter.
- Hopeless Boss Fight: As with her fight against Kalita, Muko has no chance against Nyarai. Unlike the vixen, Nyarai makes sure to break Muko physically and emotionally.
- Internal Reveal: While the audience already knew that Nyarai works for Shun and they had a plan for her debut involving Cookie since Chapter 6, Cookie doesn't find out until this chapter.
- I Want My Mommy!: Muko is reduced to crying after Nyarai slams her head into the mat repeatedly until she makes her bleed.
- Kick the Dog: Nyarai doesn't need to beat up Muko as badly as she does. She does so anyway because she doesn't like her and wants to hurt her for the hell of it.
- The Mole: Nyarai reveals that she was the one who gave Shun the tape recorder he used in the previous chapter.
- Murderous Thighs: Nyarai chokes Muko with her legs while she's talking to Cookie about why she betrayed her, mainly about Freydar.
- My Greatest Failure: Cookie's reaction when Nyarai mentions Freydar is one of complete shock, implying that she feels completely guilty for destroying her dreams in an unrelated event.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Nyarai's fight with Muko is a Curb-Stomp Battle more traumatic than the one Kalita gave her. Besides dealing with the emotional impact, Muko is clearly suffering from the physical abuse Nyarai is putting her through whereas she endured anything Kalita threw at her with determination.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Unlike her fight with Kalita, where Muko still messed around despite getting beat up, Muko is scared and distressed as she realizes that Nyarai intends to hurt her out of sadism and that she intends to destroy Cookie's dreams.
- Pet the Dog: Besides Mellow and Harry, Shira went to Muko's match and she's horrified at the beating Nyarai is giving Muko, crying at the display of unnecessary violence.
- Sinister Silhouettes: Cookie remembers Freydar as a large shadowy figure with a muscular back.
