Recap / Fudêncio e Seus Amigos S1E20 "Baltazar é um Barato"

Go To

Baltazar Barata, in his auditorium program Baltazar é um Barato, interviews the creator of the cartoon Fudêncio e Seus Amigos, Cid Pantera. Fudêncio and Conrado are also interviewed.

Tropes:

  • Art Shift: There's a small segment where Fudêncio is chasing Conrado and the animation looks like a cartoon from The '30s. Cid Pantera claims that was his first animation of the show, that he made in 1917.
  • Double Meaning: The word "barato" can be interpreted both as "male cockroach" and "cool guy", which Baltazar is.
  • Diegetic Soundtrack Usage The chorus plays in the beggining to introduce the program. The entire theme song (except for the piano solo and last chorus repetition) is played by the same band in the end, with the characters jamming along with it.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Not once in the episode does Baltazar treat Fudêncio as his son.
  • Medium Blending: The show's 2D characters visit a live-action environment.
  • Noodle Incident: Fudêncio describes some incident to Baltazar Barata, who's horrified, but we don't know what it is because of his One-Word Vocabulary. Cid seems to have been there too, and mentions that "encephalic mass", "foreskins", among others, flew during the event.
  • Roger Rabbit Effect: Cid Pantera, a live action person, interacts with Fudêncio and Conrado.
  • Season Finale: The last episode from 2005.
