Rachel frets a bit too much over Emma's health, annoying her pediatrician, so she takes her to Ross' old one, only to discover Ross still sees him. Phoebe and Joey agree to set each other up with people they know, but Joey forgets until the last minute and picks out a random guy in Central Perk, Mike Hannigan (Paul Rudd). Chandler and Monica are readying to move to Tulsa, but then Monica gets a job offer in New York.
Tropes:
- Bait-and-Switch: The end credit scene is Chandler talking on the phone and insisting that he'll back in no time. A scene cut reveals it's Joey on the other end instead of Monica.
- Big "OMG!": Joey when he realizes he forgot to get Phoebe a date.
- Blind Date: Phoebe and Joey agree to set each other up with friends that the other doesn't know.
- Career Versus Man: Monica is in a dilemma because part of her wants to move to Tulsa with Chandler but she also really wants a promising new job that requires her to stay in New York. She ultimately chooses the latter, though she still says she considers Chandler more important than her new job. The fact that Chandler will only be gone four days a week does ease things a little.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Joey's attitude regarding Chandler moving to Tulsa resembles a little kid upset at his father leaving for a long period of time.
- Double Date: Phoebe and Joey go on one with the partners they found for each other. It goes south once Phoebe realizes Joey picked a random guy off the street for her, although Mike later seeks her out for a second date, which she accepts.
- Heh Heh, You Said "X": Joey giggles at the name of Emma's pediatrician (Dr. Wiener) and also the names of some of the girls Phoebe suggests setting him up with (Poopack and Titwyler).
- Hypocritical Humor: Phoebe observes Ross and Rachel raising a baby is so grown up. Joey feels they're all starting to grow up, only to once again giggle over "Wiener" being the name of Emma's pediatrician.
- Ignored Expert: Ross is irritated that Rachel keeps bothering Dr. Wiener for assorted minor questions, especially as he already knows the given answers, due to already being a father.
- Late to the Realization: Phoebe finally realizes what's going on when Mike belatedly realizes that Joey is on Days of Our Lives.
- Man Hug: Ross and Chandler just before the latter is about to leave. Joey initiates a more forceful one, as well.
- Noodle Incident: Phoebe says she knows that the woman she set Joey up with isn't opposed to threesomes.
- Post-Treatment Lollipop: Dr. Gettleman offers one to Ross after his appointment. Naturally Rachel sees the whole interaction.
- Prank Call: After Dr. Wiener fires them as clients Rachel calls him one last time and shrieks his name in an annoying voice until Ross yells at her to stop.
- Security Blanket: Chandler held onto a security blanket all the way through college, according to Ross, who's getting back at him for making fun of Ross still seeing a pediatrician.Chandler: That was a wall hanging.
Ross: It didn't spend much time on the wall! - What the Hell, Hero?:
- Though he gives his blessing, Chandler is admittedly miffed that Monica wants to take a new job in the city after just assuring him that she couldn't live without him.
- Played for laughs with Joey being overly petulant when Chandler's about to depart. It fails because (as Chandler notes) he just wants to pick a fight to make this all easier.
