- Running Gag: Ross asks Rachel if she really likes a gift or if she's going to exchange it, to which she replies "well, not right this second."
- Seduction-Proof Marriage: Chandler rejects Wendy's advances, telling her: "what I have with my wife is pretty great, so nothing is ever gonna happen between us."
- Skewed Priorities: As Wendy starts to make a move on him, Chandler says she's getting ham on his only tie. He lampshades how this isn't the thing to focus on.
