Recap / Freshy Kanal "Donald Trump vs. Mr. Burns"

Go To

The 45th President of the United States Donald Trump and Springfield Nuclear Power Plant owner Mr. Burns raps against each other to decide who is the better businessman.

This rap battle contains examples of:

  • Badass Boast: Trump gets to use one of The Simpsons jokes as a bragging point.
Trump: So good at winning even your show knew I'd be president
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Trump boasts to Burns that his numbers are looking "excellent", which is normally Mr. Burns' catchphrase.
  • Could Say It, But...: During the bars where Burns compares Trump's duck-face to Donald Duck, he notes that he "can't legally say Disney overplayed their remakes".
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Kanye West and Ebenezer Scrooge briefly appear in the battle, teasing their appearances in the next two battles.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The "Freshy Kanal News" newspaper background during Trump's first verse has a news involving The Simpsons characters and A Christmas Carol, the standard description of Freshy Kanal videos and several headlines mocking people who pauses these frames.
  • Hashtag Rap: Mr. Burns uses this to end the rap battle.
Mr. Burns: The climate's changed in this battle — Montgomery Burns
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Trump's final line is mocking how Burns is so physically weak, Trump's "hair" can stand better against a breeze, only for it to fall off immediately after Trump says that.
  • Rage Against the Author: During the end credits, Trump goes on a tirade about "Freaky Freshy" being biased towards Burns.
  • Shout-Out: Trump compares Burns' nose to Pinocchio and Pinocchio Nose trope to call out Burns' lies.
  • Take That!: Even when battling Trump, Burns makes a dig towards Disney's live-action remake trend.
