Recap / Frasier S 06 E 23 Shutout In Seattle

Go To

In this two-parter, Niles is desperate for love and starts dating a rebellious woman, Frasier keeps calling Faye 'Cassandra', the name of his ex-girlfriend, and tries to hide that fact from her, and Roz has a fling with Bulldog and tries to break things off with him, which becomes difficult when he gets fired from KACL.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Frasier keeps slipping referring to Faye as "Cassandra". He claims Cassandra is actually a distant relative that Faye reminds him of.
  • Destructo-Nookie: Niles implies that he and Kit broke his bed during their short relationship.
  • Lost Wedding Ring: Daphne loses her engagement ring and resorts to doing ridiculous things like wearing only one glove or shoving her hand in a chicken to cover it up. After Frasier finds the ring for her Donny reveals he worked out what was going after the aforementioned chicken incident.
  • Slow "NO!": Frasier keeps calling Faye 'Cassandra' by accident. He covers by saying that Cassandra is his aunt. Unfortunately, the two women meet each other in Nervosa at the end of the penultimate scene, with Cassandra getting as far as saying, "Nice to meet you! I'm-" before Fraiser launches into this trope while shoving tables, chairs, and crockery aside in a futile attempt to reach them before Cassandra can finish her sentence.
  • Such a Phony: Roz.
