When Niles moves into an exclusive apartment building, The Montana, his chance to make a good first impression on his fellow elite neighbors is in jeopardy due to buying a pet cockatoo that has perched on his head and too frightened to leave.
Tropes:
- Hope Spot: Niles manages to smooth things over with his neighbors after they say that they don't really care about Baby perching herself on Niles' head. Then the insults she heard Niles say about them come out.
- Not in Front of the Parrot!: Niles' dinner party at the end fails on account of Baby repeating some rather insulting things about his neighbors.
- Poor Communication Kills: While most of the things that Baby repeats what she heard from Frasier and Niles were on the nose, others like Stephane being "cute, but stupid" were totally out-of-context.
- Put on a Bus: Following this episode, Niles' pet dog Lady no longer appears as Niles gave her away to another family, though it was mostly because The Montana had a "No Cats and Dogs" policy.
- Uncatty Resemblance: Frasier finally convinces Niles to give up Lady by pointing out what everyone else has already noticed: that she's a dog equivalent of Maris.Frasier: She's cold, high-strung and ignores you! My god, stand her upright, lose ten pounds, and put her in a Chanel suit, whaddaya got?!
