When Frasier and Niles try to simply enjoy themselves at Cafe Nervosa, they are constantly interupted and in the process of all this, Niles asks Frasier a simple question regarding his life, "Are you happy?"

- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Frasier sarcastically quips about Niles being a closeted gay man, then Niles glances at the camera, alluding to David Hyde Pierce being openly gay in real life.
- Obfuscating Disability: Martin pretends to be blind in order for Eddie to be allowed inside the cafe.
- Real Time: The first of two episodes the series did in real time (the second being Season 6’s “Dinner Party”). The advert breaks coincide with Niles, and later Frasier, visiting the restroom.
- Running Gag: Frasier keeps nitpicking his coffee when presented to him, which expands to The Tag.
- Shout-Out: The plot and title are parodies of the movie My Dinner with Andre
- Spit Take: Niles spits out his coffee when Frasier asks him about his feelings for Daphne.
- The Tag: Frasier is seen sitting in Nervosa alone though as stated above, he is still not satisfied with his coffee, much to the irritation of the waitress who goes to have it re-created again.
