Frasier's feeling down around Christmas time after Lilith announces she's taking Freddy to Europe instead of sending him to Seattle.
Examples:
- Black Comedy: The one poor person whose terrible Christmas memory involves the puppy Santa got him not waking up. A worn out Frasier congratulates him on having the most depressing story of the day.
- Brick Joke: While Frasier's doing his show and invites people to share uplifting stories as a counter to all the depressing holiday stories they've been getting, one person calls in and tells about how he accidentally left his gym shoes on top of his car and drove off, looked back and saw a homeless person had taken them (with the "uplifting" part being he didn't immediately go back and take them as Frasier puts it). Later at the diner, Frasier strikes up a conversation with a homeless man, who says he's feeling good because he got a great new pair of shoes that fell off a car roof.
- Crappy Holidays: Frasier goes through: Lilith deciding to spite him by taking Freddy to Europe on his dream vacation rather than sending him to Seattle, getting in a fight with Martin, having to sit through depressing stories from his callers at the station while Roz is mad at him for inadvertently making her work on Christmas Eve by agreeing to do his show, and losing his wallet.
- Did Not Think This Through: After Frasier finds out Freddy isn't coming, he decides to fill in for Bulldog at the station so that at least someone can be happy. Unfortunately, he didn't think that would mean Roz would have to work with him.
- The Kindness of Strangers: What ultimately restores Frasier's spirits; after losing his wallet at a diner, a group of homeless men take a collection from the other patrons to pay for it.
