Wanna play Fetch?
Doc has made a hole in the floor of the workshop in an effort to fix the clogging pipes. After Doc leaves to get some lubricating oil for his monkey wrench, Sprocket digs through the hole in an effort to prove Fraggles are real, entering the Rock. He soon finds himself an honored guest of the Doozers because he keeps accidentally destroying their constructions. Meanwhile, the Fraggles, finding the hole Sprocket has dug, and hearing Doc yelling about his missing monkey wrench, think a horrible "Monkey Wrench" has infiltrated the Rock and set out to find it.

Cotterpin takes Sprocket to the Gorgs' garden, thinking it's his home. There, Sprocket meets the Trash Heap, who understands his language, and he tells her why he had entered the Rock. The Fraggles, meanwhile, realize that the "Monkey Wrench" is really Sprocket and decide to find him before he gets into trouble. Using Boober's allergy to him, they trace Sprocket to the garden, where Gobo gets captured by Junior. Hearing Gobo crying for help, Sprocket comes to his rescue.

The Trash Heap tells Gobo why Sprocket had entered the Rock. Gobo gives him his mush-melon vine bracelet to show to Doc. Sprocket returns to Doc and shows him the bracelet—which Doc thinks is the washer he needs to fix the pipes.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Character Name and the Noun Phrase: The episode's title.
  • Continuity Nod:
  • Crowd Panic: The Fraggles do this when Gobo gets captured by Junior.
  • Forgot to Mind Their Head: Wembley bumps his head on the pipe again. Three times.
  • Gentle Giant: Sprocket to the Doozers. He doesn't want to destroy the Doozer constructions, but he keeps accidentally doing so anyway. The Doozers are actually happy with this because it provides more space to build.
  • Hope Spot: When Gobo gives Sprocket his mush-melon vine bracelet, Sprocket thinks he's finally got the proof he needs to show Doc that the Fraggles are real. Doc, on seeing it, thinks it's a washer.
  • Only One Who Likes Spam: Only Boober likes his Doozer Stick Stew, thinking it improves with age.
  • Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: Boober, Red, Mokey, and Wembley, listening at the hole to Outer Space, overhear Doc yelling about his missing monkey wrench and think he's talking about Sprocket.
Doc: Just when I need it, the monkey wrench is gone!
Red: And I know where it went!
Boober: Do you mean that bloodthirsty Monkey Wrench is slithering around Fraggle Rock?
Wembley: Oh, Red doesn't mean that, Boober.
    Red: Yes, I do!
  • Paying It Forward: Sprocket rescuing Gobo from Junior Gorg hearkens back to Gobo and his friends freeing the dog when he got stuck in the Fraggle hole in "A Friend In Need."
  • Plot Allergy: Boober keeps sneezing whenever he's near Sprocket. The Fraggles use this to find him. It hasn't been brought up before or since.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: The Trash Heap can talk to Sprocket.
  • Trapped in Another World: Sprocket in Fraggle Rock.
  • You Can't Miss It: When Sprocket first lands in Fraggle Rock, various cave creatures give him contradictory directions in the song "This Way". The directions given by a creature with bat-like wings are particularly confusing.
Winged Creature: Pssst! Hang a left back at the second no exit. You'll see a thing in front of the thing behind it when you get there. You can't miss it! Trust me.
