When Bloo becomes jealous of Eduardo and the other friends for appearing on TV, he pretends to be a very sick friend in order to appear, despite the fact that it is only for friends up for adoption. A Hollywood agent named Kip Snip soon turns him into a star, but he finds out that success (and the product he is forced to advertise) isn't all that it seems.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Adopt-a-Servant: When Bloo signs up with a producer be a spokesperson for a deodorant product, he finds out that the documents were actually adoption papers and that the Prima Donna Director is now his legal guardian.
  • An Aesop:
  • Call-Back: During the Sad-Times Montage, one of the clips showing Mac and Bloo is Bloo pouncing on Mac in the House of Bloo's, after Mac tells Bloo he can stay at Foster's.
  • Celebrity Is Overrated: Bloo becomes the mascot for a brand of deodorant and realizing that show business isn't all it's cracked up to be.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Kip's behavior towards Bloo is allegorical to a Stage Mom.
  • Everyone Knows Morse: Bloo tap dances Morse code to call for help.
  • "Help! Help! Trapped in Title Factory!": Bloo becomes a celebrity, but his agent won't let him go. As such, on his variety show, Bloo tap dances a Morse code message saying "Help me, Mac!" so Mac and the rest of the friends who are watching can go to the studio and save him.
Mac: Oh my gosh! He needs help! But why?
Wilt: Who knows? First I've heard of it. Before this, he did funny sketches and songs like "My Evil Producer Has Kidnapped Me and Won't Let Me Go", the "Somebody Save Me" magic show, and "A Little Help from My Imaginary Fr—" (realization) I am so stupid!
  • Horrible Hollywood: Kip's a Hollywood agent that was going to keep Bloo as his slave. It gets worse when it's revealed he didn't have Bloo sign an acting contract but adoption papers.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While he did deceive Bloo, Kip is correct in pointing out that Bloo got himself into the mess.
Bloo: But I didn't wanna be adopted.
Kip: [imitating Bloo] But I didn't wanna be adopted— well, you shouldn't have gone on television saying that you did! You ASKED for this!
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After Bloo admits on live TV that the deodorant Kip is selling actually made people smell worse, he's promptly arrested for false advertising, letting out a satisfying Big "NO!" as the police drag him away.
  • Quiet Cry for Help: After finding out he was tricked by his agent, he tap dances "HELP ME MAC" in Morse code during a live performance as a last resort.
  • Tempting Fate: Bloo pretends to be an imaginary friend desperately in need of adoption in order to get even a few seconds of fame on television. Whilst pulling off this scheme, he pledges to "love and hug" his future adopted family "forever". Towards the end of the second act, Kip (who underhandedly tricked Bloo into signing adoption papers) is on the receiving end of this broken promise when Bloo not only kicks him, but declares that he'll always be Mac's imaginary friend, making the adoption rather short-lived. So much for "love 'em and hug 'em forever", though it's not to say Kip doesn't deserve it.
  • Wham Line: Around the end of the second act, Kip reveals that he didn't hire Bloo — he adopted him, making him his legal guardian and capable of controlling him even more thoroughly.
    Kip: You can't quit.
Bloo: Sure, I can. Watch. I! QUIT!
Kip: (frowns angrily) I own you, kid. That contract you signed — that wasn't an acting contract. It was adoption papers. So, as your legal guardian, I say YOU CAN'T QUIT!
