After finding out that each member of the Elite Ten is in charge of taking out the rebels, Soma has to figure out how to defeat Akira Hayama, the newest addition to the Central army.
This episode provides examples of:
- Always Someone Better: Despite being handpicked by Azami, Rentarou, Mea, Shigemichi and Rui were obliterated by the third years. Hayama managed to take down all the aspiring members to the Elite Ten, along with two other students..
- The Bus Came Back:
- After being absent since Azami's takeover, Kuga arrives to Hokkaido to help Soma prepare for his match against Akira.
- Gin Doujima arrives to watch over Soma and Akira's rematch. While he claims to be a neutral party as a Tootsuki staff member, he still tries to do his best to help the rebels from the inside.
- Call-Back: The gaminess of the bear meat makes Soma remember his chat with Nao Sadatsuka about how to use ingredients with strong smell.
- Face–Heel Turn: To the shock of everybody, Akira joined Central's ranks as the provisional Ninth Seat of the Elite Ten.
- Took a Level in Badass: Akira refined his skills in the short time after the Moon Festival and Central's rise, to the point he earned a place in the new Elite Ten.
