It’s Halloween in Freshwater and the scene is set for a night of frights and fun. There is only one problem - Jocktopus. To avoid the constant pummeling and candy-stealing that he brings to the night, the gang takes their trick-or-treating outside of the tanks and into the pet store for an adventure.
Tropes:
- Animal Stampede: A stampede of ants is released after their tank gets knocked over when Oscar is chasing Jocktopus down to get their candy back.
- Big "WHY?!": Several in a row by Oscar when he realizes Randy betrayed all of them.
- Call-Back: Murphy from “Doggonit” and “Fail Fish” makes an appearance.
- Distracted by the Sexy: Bea turns into a drooling mess when she sees Steve Jackson without his shirt on, so much so that Oscar thinks she’s still trying to act like a zombie. Soon the rest of the girls (and Milo), are ogling him.Steve: I’m a shirtless werewolf when it’s not a full moon.
- The Dragon: Randy turned out to be this to Jocktopus to lure him to the gang.
- For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself: Jocktopus’ Halloween costume consists of a t-shirt that says, “This is my Halloween costume.”
- Gasp!: When Randy reveals his plan to have Jocktopus follow them so he can get half of everyone’s candy when Jocktopus steals it.
- Go Fetch: Milo and Oscar throw pieces of candy off the wagon in order to distract Jocktopus long enough for them to escape.
- Halloween Episode: Oscar, Bea, and Milo go trick-or-treating with their friends outside of the tank to keep Jocktopus from stealing their candy.
- Here We Go Again!: The episode ends with Joctopus stealing their “Fishgiving” turkey 3 1/2 weeks later.
- Marshmallow Hell: Happens to Steve Jackson when Koi hugs him.
- Nightmare Face: From the spider that Bea accuses of not being scary.
- Pinky Swear: Before Oscar saves him from being trampled by the stampede, he makes Jocktopus pinky promise that he’ll never steal their Halloween candy again.
- "Psycho" Strings: Plays when Milo shows off his Halloween costume - a fish wearing sushi.
- Rousing Speech: Oscar gives one when the rest of the group is feeling like giving up after Jocktopus steals their candy.
- Running Gag: Everyone being unimpressed with Bea’s zombie impression and giving her a thumbs down on her comment card. She finally gets a scare out of Jocktopus…because her acting is so bad.Bea: I’ll take it where I can get it.
- Shout-Out: Shellsea is dressed as the Bride of Frankenstein.
- Trail Of Breadcrumbs: Randy leaves a trail of candy corn for Jocktopus to follow so he can steal the other kids’ candy.
- Two Men, One Dress: Finberly and Koi go as a horse for Halloween.
- Who Is Driving?: Finberly’s reaction when she realizes both she and Koi are in the wagon, so they can’t be the ones pulling it. It ends up being Jocktopus trying to steal everyone’s Halloween candy.
