Tropes:

  • A.K.A.-47: Scathach teaches everyone how to use various guns, all of which have names reminiscent but not quite the same as a real-world counterpart.
  • Alternate History: One of the possible doujins is about the Romanovs fleeing to Japan, where Anastasia is introduced to ramen.
  • Anachronic Order: Can be unintentionally done as some side stories are locked during certain days and needs to have a certain amount of points to be viewable. Also, players can only unlock one doujin cutscene per loop cycle, making it possible to finish the main storyline before unlocking all the doujin and extra cutscenes.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking:
    • When BB fights MHXX for the first time, she states she can't fight to her full power because she needed to protect the civilians and that she doesn't want to mess up her brand new swimsuit. Ushiwakamaru calls her out on this.
    • During MHXX's second attack, she wants to destroy everything which includes the convention and the restaurants and their long wait times.
  • Ascended Meme: Jeanne Alter's fan nickname, "Jalter" becomes canon courtesy of Blackbeard. She finds the nickname embarrassing.
  • Badass Normal: In Scáthach's shooting range, there was a regular old man so skilled at shooting his 18th century flintlock that he never missed a bullseye while making his own bullets by hand at the range. It's thoroughly impresses Mecha-Eli-chan, Rider Altria Alter and even Billy the Kid.
  • Big Bad: Summer BB is the real culprit of this event, planning to trap the protagonist in an endless loop in Hawaii to spare them from the Lostbelts.
  • The Big Bad Shuffle: At first, it looks like the main villains of the event will be Medb and Mysterious Heroine XX working separate agendas that still cause trouble for the heroes (Medb being a bitch and fixing the contest in her favor which will allow her to get the Holy Grail, while MHXX is out to kill any Foreigners she can find and keeps threatening to just destroy the entire festival). However, it becomes apparent MHXX is just a literal Punch-Clock Villain doing her job (and would really rather just quit entirely and goof off on an actual summer vacation) and Medb, while antagonistic and needing to be beaten to prevent her from getting the Holy Grail, isn't the real threat Chaldea detected.
  • Butt-Monkey: Poor Astolfo has it rough this event. First he fails to get a job working for Caster Gilgamesh due to Gilgamesh's clairvoyance seeing that Astolfo is, well...Astolfo, while still hiring d'Eon, thus forcing him to camp because he's broke. Then Astolfo tries to get a job working for the hotel the protagonist is staying at before Mordred straight up tells him to leave when he gets there. He does get a chance to pull a Big Damn Heroes on the final loop when Medb's goon squad tries to stop the team from reaching the convention center to get their final doujin printed, however.
  • Call-Back:
    • When MHXX attacks Blackbeard's crotch just like how Altria Lily accidentally did Saber Wars, Blackbeard even screams Caliburn in pain.
    • Medb briefly mentions her prison warden stint from the last summer event and even states she still has the uniform tucked away (which she briefly brings out).
    • Once the party learns of Mysterious Heroine XX's identity, they decide to recruit Swimsuit Nobunaga to help negotiate with her since the two of them teamed up during the last summer's race.
    • Once again, Yan Qing impersonates Medb in order to undermine her.
    • Blackbeard repeatedly hit on Euryale during the Okeanos singularity; his crew wears T-shirts with her face on them.
  • Call-Forward: Due to the event being a flashback, there are references to the main storyline.
    • It's said that Da Vinci is working with Holmes on a secret project which is the Shadow Border.
    • The protagonist and Mash meet Goredolf in Hawaii, as he is taking his homunculi for a vacation.
  • Censor Box: The identity of a mysterious individual who ate 634 bowls of udon in one go note  is "hidden" by a censor box covering their eyes.
  • The Cameo: Gareth makes her first appearance in this event as a nameless Knight of the Round Table when Gespenst Ketzer creates a doujin about the Round Table.
  • Deuteragonist: Summer Jeanne Alter is your main ally who has an arc of improving her art skills to create a doujin to surpass both Archer Jeanne's doujin as well as a doujin that she found when walking around Chaldea.
  • Dismissing a Compliment: Happens frequently with Jeanne Alter who'll either be embarrassed by it or try to hide said embarrassment by attempting to turn the compliment into an attack. She gets better by the later loops thanks to some character development.
Osakabehime: [Jeanne Alter]'d nigerundayo because hearing praise embarrasses her too much! She's a real chicken about compliments, that one!
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty:
    • Scáthach takes her job as a teacher at the shooting range very seriously, stating she'll turn each of her students into professional marksmen in the three hours she was given. The protagonist finds this out the hard way when they signed up for the beginner class but she forces them to start with the target at 50 meters away while prodding them with one of her spears during the class. She also refuses to let the protagonist give up in the middle of class. After the class ends, she admits she even said, "God, you suck!" which she doesn't regret.
    • As it turns out Artemis is an even worse one than Scáthach due to her pride as a goddess of the hunt, refusing to let any of her students even miss once or she'll turn them into deer and kill them. The Mechanized Infantry Edison brought for her to teach can only respond with a Flat "What" before desperately asking for help from Edison who already ran away before anyone noticed.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Bartholomew Roberts is mentioned to be attending by Blackbeard, and Gareth appears without being named. They both became playable the following year when they were included in the anniversary batch of bronze Servants.
  • Easy Amnesia: When Gilgamesh recovers his memories, he reveals that he lost his memory when he was hit by a squeaky mallet in the back of the head. Becomes more understandable when it is revealed that BB was the one to take away his memories.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Blackbeard is a self-admitted and proud pervert, but even he finds Medb's showboating and smugness too much to handle even if he acknowledges how sexy she is. In fact, when he learns his own crew have fallen for her charms and "thicc thighs", he outright states he's done "simping" for her and tells the protagonist's team to win and kick her off her high horse.
  • Fan Convention: ServaFes is a clear parody of Comiket, a real life doujinshi convention which is held twice a year in Tokyo (and the first time it's held during the year is in August, which is why it's part of a summer event). Summer Jeanne Alter's goal is to make a doujin that will surpass Archer Jeanne's (who apparently is part of a doujin group with Summer Marie).
  • Flashback: The entire event is one, taking place before Cosmos in the Lostbelt seeing as the cast starts in Chaldea and grown-up Da Vinci is still alive.
  • Forced Transformation:
    • BB forces Robin to help out the protagonist's club, "Gespenst Ketzer" by threatening to change him into a pig if the club doesn't do well. Once the "Groundhog Day" Loop starts, she then states since they're on the second run, she'll instead turn him into a statue. Once she finally decides to go through with it at the climax of the event, however, Robin reveals he's protected from it thanks to some magecraft he got from Circe.
    • Artemis is so proud of being the Goddess of the Hunt that if any of her students miss a practice shot, she'll turn them into deer and then kill them to protect her reputation.
  • For Want Of A Nail: The protagonist protecting Hokusai from MHXX is when the crew have a change of actually winning. This ensures that Medb can't take Hokusai and Abby's table to add to her own as well as making Hokusai grateful to the protagonist group which leads to her teaching Jeanne Alter art skills as well as help improve their doujin in the last loop.
  • Foregone Conclusion: Summer BB wants to trap the protagonist in an endless loop in Hawaii to spare them from the Lostbelts and whatever fate that befalls unto them. Unfortunately, since this Singularity is a Flashback and the fact that the story has already reached the Cosmos in the Lostbelt arc, it's safe to say that she's not going to succeed in her goal.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Mysterious Heroine XX after BB reveals she has Pele's Authorities does a quick look at her official guidelines and realizes she's not supposed get into direct fights with local Earth deities as per her mission and takes off. This makes it rather odd when BB claims it was XX that defeated Pele before the Singularity started.
    • In addition, XX keeps making claims that she's out to destroy all the Foreigners at Hawaii and the festival itself since it has something to do with them, and most of the times she's encountered she's directly fighting BB (who herself is one of the main organizers of the current ServantFes).
    • The unknown Foreigner signal Chaldea detected was already in Hawaii before the Singularity actually started, while MHXX makes her first appearance once the Singularity starts taking out Hokusai and Oei and acting like she just got there.
    • Furthermore, the only one who really has power over the whole event is BB, as she keeps turning back the clock. Convenient for her indeed.
    • While it is unrelated to the Main Plot, the alliance between Gilgamesh and Queen of Sheba is a pivotal plot point for the next event, Battle in New York, as Gil's whole arena battle is funded by the Queen's business endeavors. They also briefly mention the possibility of starting up something in Las Vegas, which would be the location of the next Summer event.
    • A side story has Jeanne force Jeanne Alter and Jeanne Santa Alter Lily to accept the protagonist as their younger sibling by beating them in a fight. The protagonist and Alter straight up calls this hypnotism the next day. Guess what Archer Jeanne does in next year's summer event as one of the Seven Swimsuit Swordsmasters.
    • Hokusai and Oei keep getting killed during the time loops by Mysterious Heroine XX (who's despite being older still has something of a Saber-murdering mindset). Guess what class they are for next year's summer event?
    • Kiara being a Giant Space Flea from Nowhere as a Moon Cancer to even BB's surprise ends up foreshadowing her own summer version in the fifth summer event, with even a Moon Cancer classing just like here.
    • Medb mentions that she has fairy blood within this event. Later on in the main story, a fairy named Knocknarea appears in the Sixth Lostbelt, and is pretty much an Identical Stranger to Medb.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Leonidas leads the convention staff and states their goal is to provide Courtesy to attendees, and suffer neither Running, Accidents, nor Pushing. He then proudly and obviously states that, "put it together and they have C.R.A.P! That is who we are! That is what we aspire to be!" Jeanne Alter is less than impressed.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: Turns out BB never intended for the protagonist to face Kiara in the second half of the event but she forced her way into the confrontation over Abby who BB originally asked. BB is actually disturbed at how Kiara managed that.
  • Global Currency Exception: The source of Mysterious Heroine XX's financial woes: While the exchange rates of Earth currency for the event currencies of Gil, Fluffy, and BB Bucks works just fine, they don't accept currency from the Servant Universe, forcing her to scrounge up what money she can by taking a part-time morning job.
  • "Groundhog Day" Loop: The entire Singularity is this, with BB looping the entire week leading up to ServantFes as many times as possible until Chaldea comes out the winner of the doujin contest. She claims it's part of a plan to revive the Hawaiian goddess Pele after a run-in with Mysterious Heroine XX left her severely weakened, but it's actually a trap for the protagonist, albeit in a Well-Intentioned Extremist way.
  • Hate at First Sight: Ushiwakamaru and Medb instantly dislike each other the moment they meet, Ushi hating her attitude which causes Medb to dislike Ushi, seeing her dislike as jealousy. They spend the rest of the event at each other's throats.
  • Help Mistaken for Attack: Happened twice, first the Knights of the Round save the protagonist from pirates but Lancelot, Gawain, and Tristan then end up getting hurled into the ocean by a seething Ushiwakamaru after she mistakes them for thugs and it's later revealed the pirates didn't even intend on attacking the protagonist but wanted their autograph (or so they claim).
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Cursed Arm Hassan appears to do this when he takes XX out of the convention center to save everyone from her explosion but it's subverted when he returns to the building unscathed just seconds later thanks to his Protection Against the Wind skill
  • Hidden Depths: Blackbeard here is depicted as one big Otaku. While it is Played for Laughs, his knowledge of manga and anime shows his appreciation for all types of stories.
  • Identity Amnesia: Caster Gilgamesh spends most of the event having forgotten his identity, instead going by the name Gorgeous P. The reason he spends most of the event without his memories is because he wants to regain his memories himself thus he forces everyone else to keep quiet.
  • Incoming Ham: Anastasia makes a brief but very noticeable appearance in the story when she gets right up in the protagonist's face screaming about how it's "GODDAMN HOT!!!" before taking off.
  • "Just Joking" Justification: Blackbeard falls to this after his attempt to scam the protagonist group out of their money fails when Jeanne Alter is about to cut him apart for his actions.
  • Killer Rabbit: The new enemy introduced in this event? Wild chickens and giant wild chickens perfectly capable of taking a Servant down. Funnily enough, feral chickens do live in Oahu and the locals would agree to classify them as Berserkers.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The struggles the various merchants of the convention face mirror those that most writers and artists (perhaps even those in charge of the game's scenarios) in creative industries face.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: MHXX begs the cast to forget that she fought them after learning that fighting with local deities of humanity (aka BB using Pele's powers) will cause a paycut for 100 years, she then running away as fast as she can.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": The team nearly has a collective heart attack the night before ServaFes in the final loop when Hokusai reveals that the data for their doujin has been deleted. Thankfully, Robin had been making regular backups and Osakabehime is able to recover the data, so it only costs the team a little time.
  • Moving the Goalposts: BB initially states she'll give the team a Holy Grail if they enter a doujin into ServantFes, but once the time loop kicks in she changes it to only giving it to them (and ending the loop) if they come in first in the competition by selling the most books. When called out on this, she states it's because she wasn't expecting Medb to win the first go around and that she felt it was fair to let them sight-see for the first loop before buckling down to the business.
  • Mundane Utility: Medb uses her summoning ability to get Cu Chulainn to fight for the honor of not just Connacht but all of the Celts, which Cu accepts after seeing how serious she is about it, only for him to learn that it's actually just a game of beach volleyball against the protagonist's group.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • After meeting Dantes, he reveals he is also aware of the loops and wonders maybe the Avenger class has some resistance to time loops due to a predecessor having experience with "world-ending cataclysms of an endless repeating nature" referencing the franchise's original Avenger Aŋra Mainiiu creating time loops in Fate/hollow ataraxia.
    • Another one comes when Blackbeard tries to pull a scam on Gespenst Ketzer, and then claims that if he didn't do these sorts of things from time to time, people would forget who he was. This is, supposedly, something that the real Blackbeard said immediately after shooting another pirate, Israel Hands.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The trailer is essentially just shots of the focused servants relaxing at Hawaii, not at all not preparing the viewer for any of the bizarre hijinx that actually occur in the event.
  • Not Here To Make Friends: Said verbatim by Jeanne Alter when Jeanne D'Arc Archer mentions the other Doujin Clubs as "Friendly Rivals".
  • Obviously Evil: BB is obviously up to something. The problem is, the protagonist and Robin are the only ones aware of what she's really like Beneath the Mask, while Mash and the others only remember her as "that mysterious Servant who showed up one day and only plays pranks on people". Part of the reason her plan fails is the protagonist never trusted her enough to follow her plan in the first place.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Once the jig is up and the loop is about to be broken, BB drops all pleasantries and darkly makes it clear she never had any intention of letting the Protagonist leave.
  • Painting the Fourth Wall: Cursed-Arm Hassan is saved from an explosion by his Protection from the Wind skill, causing the protagonist to note at how overpowered it is despite his UC rating.
    • BB occasionally appears to goad the players to skip events they've already seen.
  • Papa Wolf: Assassin Emiya spends his time in the event watching over and protecting Iri, Illya and Chloe despite not being the same Kiritsugu that married Iri and started a family with her and not even sure why he's doing this.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Lancelot appears and has a tan and shades on. Everyone can see that its him... except for Mash.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Blackbeard shows up from time to time, with varying degrees of usefulness to the protagonist. However, he's usually bumbling and any insidious intent he has usually falls flat on his face.
  • Save the Villain: After stopping Columbus from ripping off his contributors (by siccing Caesar on him), Mash and the protagonist rescue the distraught and moping captain from a swarm of crabs.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!:
    • When Goredolf learns that Hawaii is filled with servants, he quickly leaves sensing danger.
    • Caesar attempts to use his silver tongue to weasel out of trouble like always when Cleopatra catches him reading the Mothers' Ears book but this time around, it doesn't work on her so he decides to just run away.
  • Ship-to-Ship Combat: An in-universe one happens when the protagonist's group creates a harem doujin for ServantFes with Kiyohime, Raikou and Ereshkigal supporting the characters that were based on them as well as others supporting other harem members.
  • Shout-Out: Considering the theme of the event is a Fan Convention, it would be a crime if they didn't.
    • ServaFes itself is a parody of Comiket, a real life doujinshi convention held biannually in Tokyo.
    • Apparently Osakabehime got hooked on the new War of Wyverns expansion just before ServantFes thus is behind on her doujin.
    • After MHXX escapes after the cast beat her the first time when she's still in her full armored stage, Mash tries to say MHXX transformed and rolled out before catching herself.
    • When asking Tamamo Cat for some food, she says due to the the hotel restaurant being booked all she can give the protagonist is "some jell ..... riceballs" referencing the infamous change 4Kids made when dubbing Pokémon: The Series.
    • Mecha-Eli-chan is quickly disappointed at the lack of kaiju fights in Hawaii since she assumed that the place where they remade a famous kaiju movie would have some.
    • Karna makes a reference to Baahubali's shield coconut tree catapult.
    • When Blackbeard is attempting to pay for the doujin in the final loop and the group says it's on the house, he eventually goes "Shut up and take my money!", then notes he's always wanted to say that.
  • Starving Artist: Apparently Tristan is a poet who works as a fisherman to pay the bills during the event thus he borrows a lot of money from Bedivere which Bedivere has calculated to 264,000 BB Bucks.
  • Team Dad: Robin acts as this as Gespenst Ketzer's manager. BB made a point of forcing him into the group due to his tendency to be this.
  • We Do Not Know Each Other: Apparently, Bartholomew Roberts told Blackbeard that this is how they'd act towards each other during ServantFes.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: Jeanne Alter defiantly declares that she is writing a doujin that will make the one that Jeanne D'Arc is working on pale in comparison. Jeanne's response is eagerness to see what Alter comes up with. Jeanne's total lack of malice towards Alter just pisses Alter off more.
