Fed up with the pressures of college and living at home, Mallory decides she wants to marry Nick, which is met with much resentment from her family.

- Cannot Spit It Out: It takes Nick a couple of tries before he’s able to inform Steven and Elyse of his desire to marry Mallory.
- Elopement: Seeing how much criticism their engagement is receiving, Mallory and Nick decide elopement is their only option.
- Prenup Blowup: Steven, Elyse and Alex each forge one of these to attempt to stop Mallory from marrying Nick. While Elyse and Steven decide on grounding Mallory, Alex goes so far as to bring over Gregg - a friend from college - with the intentions of him hooking up with Mallory.
- Running Gag: Andy coming up with different descriptions of family members he’s seen in photo albums, ultimately resulting in this exchange:Jennifer: And who's this, Andy?Andy: Mallory, my sister.Jennifer: And who's this?Andy: Nick.Jennifer: And who's Nick?Andy: My brother-in-law.
- Sarcastic Clapping: Alex bursts into this when he catches Nick singing to himself about how Mallory proposed to him.
