Recap / Family Guy S 8 E 6 Quagmires Baby

Go To

Quagmire holds a yard sale where Peter purchases a ham radio. Peter eventually manages to contact the ghost of Ronald Reagan and they bond, until it turns out that it was actually the ghost of Rich Little all along doing an impression of Reagan. While Peter returns the radio to Quagmire, they discover a baby girl on Quagmire's doorstep. Quagmire denies that it's his at first, but then she does his trademark Giggity head-bob.

Now that Quagmire is stuck raising his infant daughter Anna Lee, life for him gets harder. He doesn't even get to have sex with a virgin named Candy. Fed up, Quagmire puts Anna Lee up for adoption, but he soon regrets it.

Meanwhile, Stewie creates a clone of himself and dubs him "Bitch Stewie", who is dumber than the original. Brian asks him to make a clone of himself, which results in "Bitch Brian", who is even dumber.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Ass Shove: Implied to have been self-inflicted by Bitch Brian.
Bitch Brian: I sharpened a pencil in my bum, and now I need a band-aid.
  • Body Horror: Bitch Stewie and Bitch Brian disintegrating whilst still alive.
  • Clone Degeneration: A very Squicky version happens when Stewie decides to clone himself, creating "Bitch Stewie", a deformed, moronic servant to the original. Later, Stewie makes one of Brian, which is arguably more messed up. Eventually, both clones melt into a pile of disgusting, fleshy goo.
Brian: I'm not proud of this, but I have to lick that up.note
  • Happily Adopted: Anna Lee lives with her loving adoptive parents after Quagmire gives her up for adoption.
  • I'm Melting!: Stewie creates less-than-intelligent clones of himself and Brian to act as assistants, only for them to become unstable when their bodies literally fall apart and collapse into fleshy gooey puddles.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Quagmire's reaction after seeing every girl in the strip club reminds him of Anna Lee after he had just given her up for adoption.
  • Parental Incest: After just giving her up for adoption, Quagmire fantasizes about this happening with Anna Lee in eighteen years.
Quagmire: Maybe I'll bump into her in about 18 years.
Peter: That's sick, Quagmire! Your own daughter?
Quagmire: [shamelessly] Come on! You didn't think I change that much, did you? [breaking the fourth wall] Goodnight, everybody!
  • Parental Neglect: Quagmire taking care of Anna Lee.
  • Police Brutality: Fred Flintstone being clubbed mercilessly by police at the end of the World's Wildest Police Videos parody. "Yabba-dabba don't!" chuckles narrator John Bunnell.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Quagmire's belief that the newborn baby isn't his until she says his catchphrase "Giggity".
    Anna Lee: [bobs head] Giggity.
    Quagmire: Ohh... I say that.
  • Shout-Out: To both World's Wildest Police Videos and The Flintstones: Fred Flintstone makes another appearance, this time as a modern-day drunk driver fleeing police during rush hour, the chase being narrated by original Police Videos host John Bunnell. As the chase winds through a drive-in movie theater, Dino pops his head out of the car's roof and Fred places the children on top of Dino's head, parodying the opening credits of latter-day episodes of the original Flintstones series. Much like the Jetsons gag from an earlier season, the latter's opening sequence is deconstructed by showing just how much trouble a driver would get in if they put their kids on the roof of their car while driving.
