Frank tries to dissuade Susan from accepting a promotion at work while Bill tries to hide from some bullies.
Tropes:
- Oh, Crap!: Frank has this reaction when his new answering machine recorded his call with Vivian when he lied and said that Susan doesn't want the promotion at her job.
- Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Philip goes outside in his costume, eager to trick-or-treat. But once he looks across the street and sees Jimmy and his gang terrorizing Bill, he quickly runs back inside.
- Silent Treatment: Sue gives Frank one massive case of this after finding out he went behind her back to cancel a job offer for her.
- Sinister Switchblade: Jimmy threatens Bill and Philip with what appears to be a switchblade. It was actually a comb, which he was pretending was a switchblade to scare them.
- Tempting Fate: Bill calls Philip, and tells him to come trick-or-treating with him in costumes. He reasons to him over the phone that they can only go for a few houses, and that they will be in costumes, and it will be dark out. But as soon as Bill goes outside all dressed up and walks down his driveway, he is IMMEDIATELY punched to the ground by Jimmy who was waiting for him.
