Clean House
The team searches for a missing migrant teen they believe was lured into unlawful work by a dangerous man; Remy learns of a previously undisclosed witness in his brother's murder case.
Tropes:
- Bittersweet Ending: The team arrests Easton Harcourt for his crimes, but they are unable to save Xiomara in time. As Xiomara and several of Harcourt's unnamed victims are buried in a paupers' grave, Sheryll, Hana, and Kristin arrive to pay their respects. Meanwhile, Remy learns the identity of the witness who knows what happened to this murdered brother Mikey.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Larry Michael Davis gives this to Remy for ignoring his pleas of innocence and keeping him locked up for 25 years for a crime he did not commit.Larry: "If you've come to spit on my grave, you've come a little early."Remy: "No, Mr. Davis, I haven't."Larry: [Bitterly] "'Mr. Davis.' That's a change from what you've been calling me for the last 25 years: Murderer."Remy: "All the evidence pointed in your direction."Larry: "All the evidence a racist DA allowed the jury to hear."Remy: "I see now there's more to this case than I knew. I flew all the way down here to talk to you in person."Larry: "I know why you're here."Remy: "...What do you say?"Larry: "What do I say? I say how about an apology first for everything you've done to me."Remy: "...I'm sorry you didn't get a fair trial. I'm sorry for your cancer and your suffering. But until I know what happened to my brother, that's all I can apologize for."Larry: "This case has never been about the truth."Remy: "Well, it can be now. If you agree to a waiver of privilege, I can find this witness... All I'm saying is if I can locate her and this person who really killed my brother, it exonerates you in the process. It's a win-win for both of us. At least let me try."Larry: [Bitterly] "...Let me think about it."Remy: "Mr. Davis..."Larry: "Have a good flight home."
