• Been There, Shaped History: Kill Moves participated in the Bay of Pigs Invasion.
• Bittersweet Ending: Chris helps Kill Moves reunite with his mother, completing his school assignment and bonding with him in the process. Julius and Rochelle also clean up the complete mess that was Kwanzaa by splurging on the kids the day after Christmas, where everything was 75% off. However, it turns out the "holiday card" Kill Moves gave Chris that he gave away to Jerome as he didn't have any money had two thousand dollars in it, and Jerome gives back only one of them "in the spirit of Christmas".
• Broke Episode: Downplayed. Julius isn't broke, but he didn't get his Christmas bonus, so he has to compromise for Christmas. He would've done the best he could with that little he had until he learned about Kwanazaa.
• Christmas Episode: The third one.
• Dark and Troubled Past: Kill Moves is a gifted child of a wealthy family who served in the Air Force before the mass layoffs under President Reagan. This sent him on a downward spiral of depression and schizophrenia to the point where he hallucinated that The Great Gazoo told him that "the only true freedom could be found by living in a box".
• Karma Houdini: Tonya admits to stealing the Walkman, and Rochelle begrudgingly lets her off because of the holidays.
• Malcolm Xerox: Drew becomes this as he becomes the most invested in Kwanzaa. Rochelle quotes him as stating that he will never talk to white people again. According to Narrator!Chris, Drew later married a white woman, but every Christmas, he ignores her.
• Pointy Ears: Greg shows up to the Rock household dressed in an elf costume. According to Narrator!Chris, those are his real ears, and that's backed up by Chris being surprised that he's working as one of Santa's elves and Greg stating that he isn't, to Chris' bewilderment.
• Riches to Rags: Turns out this is Kill Moves' situation. He comes from a wealthy family in Manhattan and willingly chose to be homeless after a long battle with mental illness.
