- Actor Allusion: Clarence Williams III plays Mr. Tate, a very sketchy, creepy guy who rents out an apartment to the Rocks. Clarence is quite familiar with playing creepy, villainous characters.
- Evil All Along: Mr. Tate really wasn’t from Philadelphia and is in fact a notorious criminal on the run, finally being caught by the FBI at the end of the episode.
Adult Chris: "He was wanted in so many states, for so many crimes, that when they caught him, they had to let thirty guys go!"
- Foreshadowing: Mr. Tate’s need to keep many locks on his door and asking for strange items from Julius and Rochelle are a dead giveaway that Rochelle’s suspicions are well-founded.
- Properly Paranoid: Rochelle was entirely right about Mr. Tate’s true nature.
