Carter: Okay. So first my PDA has a camera and now black holes are everywhere. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS!

Wormholes show up all over Eureka as the town prepares to launch the Astreus. Allison considers moving in with Carter.

Tropes

• Cliffhanger: The Astreus disappears with Allison onboard.
• Contrived Coincidence: Of all the things that could have been destroyed by a mini black hole, it's the (decoy) president's limo.
• Did You Just Have Sex?: Boarding the Astreus, Zane asks Fargo and Holly how on Earth they're so calm.
• Dr. Jerk: Dr. Plotkin used to develop weapons, but switched to clean energy to be more positive. He's an obnoxious, pontificating blowhard who uses environmental concerns as a platform from which to look down on others.
• Friendship Moment: For all their fighting, Fargo sincerely values Dr. Parrish's contributions
  Fargo: Hey, Issac? You are part of the mission. Your stasis gel makes all the difference.
  Dr. Parrish: Thanks, Doug. Try not to die up there.
• Genre Savvy: After the decoy president's limo is death-rayed.
  Jo: We have to assume this was an assassination attempt.
  Carter: Or that this is Eureka and laser things happen all the time.
• Journey to Find Oneself: Jo leaves Eureka and goes on one.
• Layman's Terms: Allison to Carter.
  Allison: The point is, black holes in Eureka... BAD.
  Carter: See, that I get!
• Like Brother and Sister: Jo and Carter tell each other that they consider each other family.
• Oh, Crap!: When the plan to use Dr. Plotkin's energy rods to divert the mini black holes that killed the limo and ate Taggart's truck, they end up coalescing into one big black hole. Which is bad.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Jo spends the episode acting unusually mellow and volunteering for jobs she'd usually complain about. She's feeling nostalgic because she's about to go on a walkabout.
  Jo: Come on. It'll be like old times, we'll do it together.
  Carter: You hate jobs like this. Have you met you!?
• Pet the Dog: Fargo and Parrish have a nice exchange, and Fargo tells Parrish that he is part of the mission even if he's not an astronaut.
• Running Gag:
  • Carter finds out his PDA has a camera. Later, he shows Henry and Allison pictures of the black hole, and has to scroll past a load of random pictures first.
  • Carter's Jeep gets sucked into the black hole seconds before it's neutralised by the antimatter bomb. When the black hole disappears, the Jeep falls back out, unharmed... straight into the lake.
• Shout-Out:
  • One of the Astreus astronauts is called Yamamoto, which could be a reference to Macross or Space Battleship Yamato, both anime featuring giant spaceships.
  • Carter looks in his Jeep mirror at the black hole with the words, "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear."
• Technobabble: Lampshaded by Henry.
  Henry: A collapsing black hole, that might explain the photon burst that sliced the limo. And the spaghettification of Taggart's truck. [To Carter] Real term.
• Their First Time: Holly and Fargo plan to have their first time together on Titan. It ends up being the simulated Titan instead.
  Holly: Dr. Fargo, are you suggesting we join the billion-mile high club?
• Wham Shot: The president's limo is cut in half by a death ray! Fortunately it turns out that was a decoy.
  Carter: Your little death ray nearly killed Faux-bama!
