Recap / Euphoria S 01 E 07 The Trials And Tribulations

Go To

Cassie grew up in a complicated household: her parents would fight a lot, her mom is an alcoholic and she had to give up her dream of becoming an ice-skater due to her father’s financial troubles.

As she went through puberty, the world started to look at her very differently. Right before entering high school her parents separated and her dad left the house.

While Suse told her it was because of his inability to hold a job, she heard from another student her mom cheated on her father. As time passed her father came less and less frequently. One night, her father had a major car accident. After, the accident he slowly descended into opioid addiction. She maintained a relationship with him, but his responses became more and more distant. One day, he showed up at night at their house only warning Cassie, asking her not to tell anyone, and then stealing to fuel his addiction. Cassie never saw him again.

Cassie easily fell in love with guys she met, and giving in on making sexual content for them, who then leaked them on the internet. She then met McKay, and he loved her for who she was. In the present day, Cassie realizes that she’s pregnant.

Rue is depressed and is compulsively watching reality tv, and hasn’t gone up to pee for a day.

Jules didn’t go to school for a week after Halloween. Rue is in a manic state and investigates with Lexi on the link between Jules and Maddie’s aggression, feeling that Nate is somehow connected to that. She mentions "Tyler", with whom Jules met after the carnival. She connects the dots and realizes Nate was behind the profile and orchestrated all of it.

Cassie gathers Maddy, Lexi, Kat and BB to ask for advice. She reveals that she almost cheated on McKay with Daniel. Cut to Kat, who actually hooked up with Daniel. After hooking up they talked but Daniel had no memory of dating leaving Kat hurt. Cassie is suggesting revealing that she almost cheated with Daniel, but all of her friends are heavily against. Kat says that she shouldn’t worry about it too much since their relationship is not going to last forever. Maddy is angered and calls out Kat for being a bad friend. The two argue and Maddy calls Kat a cut, making her leave and crying. Later, Lexi asks what was the second question Cassie had, but she pretends having forgotten.

Still depressed Rue is still unable to go to the bathroom. She meets her mom’s new boyfriend, who asks her about Jules, and Rue insults him, but apologizes. Jules texts Rue that she is going away for the weekend. Rue is back in her room, but then goes back into a manic episode and goes to Fez talking about her investigation. She asks for Fez to intervene with Nate. Mouse comes to Fez’s house and Rue stays hidden with Fez’s grandmother. Mouse puts pressures on Fez to bring more money in.

Jules goes to Los Angeles to meet her friend. In the car they talk about Rue, and their relationship. At the appartement Jules meets her friend’s roommate Anna. As Anna puts make up on Jules, the two bond and flirt together.

Cassie breaks out to McKay that she is pregnant. McKay is firmly opposed to her having a child, while Cassie is much more hesitant. She eventually concedes crying. Cassie goes to her mother for help.

Kat is having another camming session with a hidden man but very uncomfortable and ends the session abruptly.

Nate goes to Fez’s store and Fez tells Nate to stay away from Rue and Jules, but Nate taunts him, leading Fez to threaten Nate to kill him. Nate seems unimpressed and leaves. Nate calls the police, who intervene at Fez’s house, and he and Ashtray are forced to flush drugs down the toilet.

Rue’s state worsens as her bladder fills. Leslie finds Rue crumbled on the floor, takes her and bathes her and Rue asks to be back on medication for her bipolar disorder.

Jules and her friends take drugs and go to a party. Jules and Anna kiss while dancing. Jules hallucinates Anna as Nate, and he apologizes to her, Jules claims to want to kill him but kisses him. Jules has then interwoven visions of Anna and Rue having sex with her. The next morning Jules wakes up and goes to the building’s terrace, crying.
