The Man you send to kill The Boogeyman versus The Die Hard Hero of Nakatomi Plaza versus The Veteran who drew First Blood
Tropes:
- Air-Vent Passageway: McClane appears crawling through an air vent at one point; Rambo later turns it into a diss.
- Badass Boast: Rambo gives one to John Wick about how he is going to take him down in The Continental, regardless of the High Table's rules. Considering the bad things that happens to John Wick when he did just that to Santino, that takes pure balls of steel.Rambo: Your High Table rules don't apply to this conflict!
I'll finish you right in the lobby, Mission Accomplished!! - Big, Thin, Short Trio:
- Rambo is "Big", being the bulkiest and most muscular of the three.
- Wick is "Thin", he's tall and rather svelt.
- McClane is "Short", being the shortest of the three.
- Cold Ham: Unlike McClane's ridiculous accent and Rambo's shouting, Wick speaks with a detached intensity.
- Deadly Euphemism: Wick opens his rap by ordering a "dinner reservation for two", "dinner reservation" being his organization's code-phrase for cleaning up a dead body.
- Freudian Trio:
- Rambo is The McCoy; he's the hammiest and his PTSD causes him to react the hardest.
- Wick is The Spock; he's the most in-control and the most cultured of the three of them, his hammyness the coldest between the three of them.
- McClane is The Kirk; he has Brooklyn Rage and a sarcastic streak that's tempered by his wits and won't just go in guns blazing like Rambo would.
- Good Versus Good: The three of them are all Action Heroes that fall somewhere on the Anti-Hero analysis page, but they are ultimately heroes pointing guns at each other and throwing shade.
- Informed Deformity: McClane makes fun of Wick's missing ring finger, but he very clearly has all of his digits here.
- Nuclear Candle: McClane uses a small cigarette lighter to illuminate his Air-Vent Passageway while deriding Wick's films as too dark.
- This Is Reality: McClane's rather pissed off at Rambo brandishing an RPG launcher in the battle.Jesus Christ, asshole! What are you doing?
This is not some Saturday-Morning Cartoon for you to ruin!
